Let’s play “What if the SEC was the only conference to play football?”

If any conference was to play football this fall it would be the SEC....the king of college football.
So what if the SEC was the only conference to play football? It would be the only games to watch for a sports starved nation. Does the SEC renegotiate the TV contract for 2020 only? The value of the games for advertisers will be higher than normal.
This could be the season:
Conference games only. Every team plays all teams in the conference. So a 13 game regular season (the SEC championship game participants already play 13 games) Include 2 byes in the schedule like last year if you want to. The divisional winners would meet in the SEC championship game a couple weeks after the regular season ended....some time around the holidays.

We currently play 8. Let’s just add two more from opposite division to make it 10. Best record hosts SCCG.

I like it. Who do you go after for the 2 extra games? Old time rivals you hardly play anymore, or cupcakes to bump that record?

Then after realizing how effective it was for a year, we decide to do it every year and offer up our champion to play the champion of everyone else.

It means aggie can’t dodge bama from a 15 mph outer band, but can continue to dodge texas with an excuse, this time.
I ended up going to that rescheduled beating after all the "We was here, where was yoo" signs went up. Fans threw cups from upper deck to bama section.

Why worry with divisions in a full round robin? Best two records play for the title or create a 4 team playoff from top 4 teams.
Or....
If we can't shed divisions, each divisional team plays a home and away game vs every divisional opponent for a 12 game regular season. Levels the bubbles on flukes and home field advantage. Challenges coaching to prepare for and adjust for the second games. Still creates a 15 game season for the CG.
Rank teams 1-7 in each Division. Top 4 from each division play an 8 team playoff with all initial seeding being East vs. WEST, i.e.: #1E vs #4W, #2E vs #3W; #1W vs #4E, #2W vs #3E; . Remaining 6 teams get an E vs W bowl game matchup against their like cross-divisional seed. CFB fans win.

There would be too much arguing about who gets to play who unless it is a complete round robin with all teams.

Instead of higher ratings coming with having just one conference that then will be offset by the sec not firing coach’s like Saban that plays politics against patriots of America
Are the sec being quite and thinking about what Saban is doing and about with strict rules that coach’s cannot play politics ??
Playing politics pisses half the population off and money is lost for sec and for nfl players too

We already kicked Florida and Georgia’s was last season we could certainly handle the rest of the east.
