Let's lay all of this out there

LSU is not getting kicked out of the SEC, nor should they. There is literally no way that just happens mid-season.
The SEC needs to be able to enact and enforce its rules. No court order should prevent the conference itself from setting and enforcing standards and laws voted on by the university presidents/voting members.
Yes, this goes for everyone, not just LSU. It's well-documented that multiple schools pursued pro players in various sports and each of those schools should feel heat in some form for doing so. Yes, that includes my own school and I'm fine with it if we get penalized for doing something we all know we shouldn't have done.
The only reason we are where we are is it seems there might have been a concerted effort by LSU officials and Lousiana state officials to undermine the SEC at multiple points in this saga.
I don't want to see LSU punished for that even if that's the case. They were using a loophole that other SEC schools also looked to use. I do think LSU took it too far with the court cases and what not, but as long as everyone just agrees to calm down and not roster former pro players, let's just drop it and move on.

The SEC doesn't get to write rules AFTER THE FACT then punish a school. Let's start there.

I can agree with most of this.
It's just unreal they would be taking it this far when we didn't break any rules.

LSU wasn’t part of any court case though.
And before you respond with “they colluded with the players to do so”, is that written anywhere in any of the legal filings?

That's the thing people keep forgetting. LSU never filed any suits. It was the players that took this to court.

The fact that Alabama actually played a former pro basketball player and didn't get slapped down in any way (no forfeiture of games, no loss of post season eligibility) tells you all you need to know...

I can agree with this. That would feel a bit too much like a witch hunt if rules were enacted and used retroactivlely. I don't think it will come to that in all honesty, and I hope it doesn't come to that

I'm not asserting that at all. It would be hearsay and based on nothing I can substantiate with any evidence.
The only reason people think that where was any LSU collusion is the optics of it all. Wright and Harris filed suit in Louisiana and had a hearing in Baton Rouge and were verbally committed to playing for LSU if given the opportunity.
I still don't think y'all should be punished for something other schools were also doing. Just need to bury the hatchet and move on.

Good post I agree with all points. Lane did what lane does and sees a system that is completely broken and went to break it even further. Poked the bear. With that said even when this goes away the system remains broken and needs to be reformed.

I honestly don't agree with this. As y'all have seen on this message board, some fans would love to see y'all hammered and are actively cheering for Sankey and the SEC to do so. One could argue that Sankey is more popular than ever outside the state of Louisiana.
I'm just trying to offer a more-level headed opinion is all. Either everyone needs to be punished for recruiting pro players, or no one does

A kid that South Carolina signed was also involved in that suit, as were 27 other athletes.
No one talks about that.

5 for 5 blew it up. Coaches found a loophole and exploited it. Only one coach and school are getting threatened. Their excuse is the two LSU guys "signed a contract" and then we find out that if you just walk on an NFL practice field you are compensated and have to sign waivers which are considered contracts.
This is personal. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a dumbass.
