to add to your op, overall last place in the same time frame. if same conference record, head to head is counted first, then overall to determine ties

2009
Mississippi State 3-5
Auburn 3-5
Arkansas 3-5
All 3 were tied for 4th AKA last in the West. How convenient you left out those two.
FWIW that was the only season Mullen has ever finished dead last even though he is picked last almost every year by the media, Athlon, and Lindys.

who you lost or won against does not matter unless it is in regards to tie-breaking for first place.
Posted on 4/4/17 at 2:59 pm to Serraneaux
None of this matters. Because Dan Mullen and Nick Saban are the only coaches that have been on the job more than 5 years all coaches get a pass in the first year so you should adjust it for last place finishes since the coach has started coaching their team... So take all your info and then repost under those guidelines

Am I reading OP wrong or do we not have the same amount of last place finishes as Auburn does?

Same thing happened in 08 also. State, Auburn, and Arkansas all finished at 2-6 and split with one another.
