The Michigan loss was the final straw, told him to start looking around after that. We had to go snap up the other coach that lost to Michigan

If that’s real, dude needs to learn to shut up. He didn’t run his mouth close to this much in Oxford.
I have my issues with Lane and how he left and I hope and pray his sobriety continues the rest of his life. But the last few months he has made some questionable comments publicly and is hanging around with LSU tennis players which makes me wonder if he’s dipping his toes a little bit.
I know our AD covered some stuff up for him but LSU and it’s AD don’t frick around especially if you even slightly start to lose. It won’t be hard for them to get rid of him for cause if it comes to that. Especially with the amount of money they have thrown at him

He leaned on Saban so much during the time he was flirting with LSU and Saban ultimately told him to take the LSU job. He's always looked up to Saban and had a close relationship with him, so I can't imagine him making this up about him, risking pissing him off.
I also can't imagine that Saban gave him permission to say this publicly if it is true, so I'd imagine Saban is pissed at him one way or another for saying this.

It is clear that LSU is not doing as good a job as Ole Miss did at keeping Lane from harming himself.

I found the quote in the video, it isn't exactly as presented.
He basically said that coaching "marriages" never last forever because both parties won't be happy forever, you can wish it would because it's a feel good story, then he says "maybe Nick Saban...."
Big pause.
Then he says he didn't really want to get into names because in the coaching profession, there's some names where you said it happened but it really didn't and they were forced to retire.
