I'm going back to the 80s.

Ole Miss
UF
LSU
Everyone.
The only one who doesn't care about that is Lane because Lane only cares about Lane.
This.

that is wild he did this interview and never said he was staying at ole miss.
I think it’s not unreasonable to consider he’s likely struggling right now and genuinely doesn’t know for sure what he wants to do.
There’s the matured Lane vs the in-his -DNA-rolling-stone-grass-might-be-greener Lane that may be waging a back and forth battle in his noggin right now.

They won't

It's semantics as to whether or not you call it an ultimatum. He was told he's not coaching in the playoffs if he doesn't commit to 2026. The McAfee interview was just a coordinated PR stunt. Lane doesn't like national writers effectively calling him an idiot and an a-hole for what he's doing so he's trying to change the narrative.

I doubt Lane is coaching in the playoff.

This is what it means to be in business with Lane Kiffin. For well or ill, it's what we signed up for. He's a heck of a coach and knows how to use media and social media to maximum effect to keep his name front and center in the national conversation.
It's just part of the bargain, however things turn out.

He had the perfect opportunity on that show today to squash everything. And with everything on the line, why wouldn’t he do that? Something isn’t adding up. Leverage? What leverage does he need? All three schools are offering a blank check. If he loves Ole Miss as much as he appears to, then why not sign that, go recruit the crap out of a some studs (b/c the Collective would explode) then go win some games in the playoffs? If he’s just doing this for attention, then he doesn’t love Ole Miss like he says he does.

Ole Miss media has been reporting all along that he is legitimately torn as to what to do.

Yep it doesn't make sense if he is planning to stay at Ole Miss with early signing day and all that coming up.

I will take that bet. Zero chance Ole Miss sits him while he is living up to his current contract.

The timeline simply doesn't allow it.

He is going to finish out this season Coaching that team and there is nothing Ole Miss will do about it.
So LSU and Florida will wait until January to sign him and he can’t pick all three schools? Someone is getting fricked. And I’ve got a feeling it’s not Ole Miss.

He can have someone tell Florida or LSU and otherwise stay out of it.
Ole Miss won't be able to prove anything.
This isn't Sexton's first rodeo. Yes several people always get fricked when he is involved

Neither are correct.
He doesn't have to disclose shite to anyone until he decides to leave.
He isn't contractually obligated to talk about ongoing negotiations his agent may or may not be having on his behalf.
What would UM do, fire him?
He'd love that. Playoff bound and fired. He'd cash out his contract and still be the hottest coaching prospect in a seller's market among vacancies

However, sources told ESPN on Tuesday that Ole Miss officials are pressing Kiffin and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, for a resolution. Athletic director Keith Carter has asked for Kiffin to reach a decision by this upcoming weekend, sources said. The sources stopped short of calling it an ultimatum, but they added that Carter and others want an answer so they can prepare for the postseason, a potential coaching transition before the CFP and a search to identify Kiffin's replacement if he leaves.
