I think they should make the player stay off the field until a change of possession.
This would probably fix it and could be seen as concern for player safety.

The whole mustard bottles and golf balls being thrown was because of all the fake injuries.
If you’re running a hurry up offense that is what they do.
But I did think this was a good game.
LSU has a really good QB
Was that the reason? Here I was thinking it was after they put the ball short after a 4th and long.
reason for mustard bottle

I think it’s cheesedick and has no place in the sport, but as stated above, it’s part of the game now. If it is legal and gives you an edge or prevents the other team from getting an edge, you’re stupid not to take advantage of it. This is a zero sum game with a lot of money on the line, and they should do everything in their power to win. Every single sport has people angle shooting, this is just the newest one in football. It’s a counter to the last angle shooting developed, which was the hurry up offense. Football is evolving, and not always for the best.
Either slow the game back down eliminating the need for it, or force the player to sit out a play or even a series. I think the fair and balanced answer is to do a combo of the two.
ETA: Talked to a player who recently graduated from Georgia about it. He claimed a lot of the cramps were actually real, even though they always look suspect. The style of offenses played today have defenders gassed and cramping more often than in the past. Take that for what it’s worth, and Georgia isn’t a major offender like other teams. So he’s siding with opponents on the issue.

These are reported back to conference…and nothing is done.
Player causing stoppage for “injury” should have to sit out rest of Series. Right thing to do since they are hurt and need to be properly treated. Player safety.

Sounds like we need at least 10 30 second Hydration Breaks sponsored by Gatorade (what winners drink).

They have been doing this a few years now to Arkansas. If the ncaa isnt going to do anything about it then its fair game. I think the player should be out the rest of the possession. That would have partially fixed the problem

They won't do that because of perceived liability the NCAA is scared crapless about. Say a kid actually is injured on the first play of the final drive but waves off leaving the field and says he is good. He then isn't able to protect himself on the next play and gets majorly injured. Onus is on the player here but some dipshit talking head on ESPN is going to say the NCAA rule forcing him to stay out the whole drive is what caused him to stay and get injured. The NCAA has gotten so scared about injuries that they won't create a rule that they think could conceivably get a player injured. You are going to have to deal with this until the NCAA gets out of the football business.

Gonna be hard to wave off an injury if you cause a stoppage in the game
Your hypothetical doesn't track because if a player is seriously injured it is unlikely he will be able to get back up immediately to continue anyway

Funny it’s only on defense not offense, who goes faster

That’s reasonable. It’s impossible to know that a random cramp or freak issue didn’t come up after the play.
Call it “cramp protocol” instead of “concussion protocol”.

Did anyone catch the Auburn player being picked off by sniper Saturday? Pretty funny.

Exhibit A of why I can’t stand lane kiffin. He was quick to call one of our players a “bitch” after accusing A&M of faking injuries yet his team takes it to a whole new level.
Auburn is doing it too.
I can't remember a time I saw an obvious example from Alabama. I may be mistaken.

They discussed putting in a new rule to force some additional sitting out, but then didn't do it. I think the player should have to sit out until the next quarter. If he's hurt, shouldn't he rest the injury?
Posted on 10/2/23 at 2:39 pm to BigScoreboard
Sit out or the team should have to take a time out.

You were gifted a touchdown by the refs.
Still couldn’t get the win.

If we're going play this game, you were gifted one as well.
First touchdown was an illegal pick by your wr. Dude didnt even attempt to run a route. #5 is celebrating after the pick damn near before the pass is thrown.
