LSU is going to be very lucky for Kelly not to counter sue them for even more money for reputational damage.

This is the first thing that popped in my mind. How glorious would it be if they end up paying him 200mm vs 50mm ??

What do you think the "for cause" reason will be? Too mean? Too fake?

In their defense, faking a southern accent should be a felony.
As well? You know better than anyone they’re the undisputed best. It pains me to give State props for anything, but their turf management program is world renowned.

youth baseball become the owner of too many families

It’s damn near a full time job for half the families in town. Luckily my son hated it and is focusing on football. Two day baseball tournaments every weekend around the state, practices, outside coaching, and the fact it’s pretty much year around as it’s two seasons is insane. We really dodged a bullet.

Lane will see how far he can go with this Ole Miss team

Personally, I don’t think the Rebels bombing out early will factor much into whether he stays or goes outside of knowing he’ll have more time to recruit if he does make a move. Ole Miss lost 20 players to the NFL and had an 18-year-old QB with almost no snaps and a D2 QB that was a question mark to start the year. The fans and probably even the staff thought this was a 9-win ceiling team from the jump. He recruited and planned for this to be a rebuild year and to come out swinging with a more experienced QB next year. It’ll come down to resources offered to him by his suitors and if he wants to gamble and make a jump. If we can go deep, then of course he’ll be more incentivized to stay for a number of reasons, but losing won’t be a big deal.

As of today Kiffin is now top of the board for the Giants job and reuniting him with Dart…it’s all so tiresome.

Wasn’t that the dude who was in jail/prison for a while and came back? Might be getting people confused.

Point proven.

You’d think that, but I see dumbasses fall for it everyday. I’ll click on their names and some of them have been here for years with thousands of posts. Really shows the average IQ of posters here.
Dating myself even more, but I remember riding in my dad’s pickup truck into the Grove and popping the tailgate. I also had to tell my son the yearly “back in my day” story last night about how I didn’t get to go trick or treating because I was either in Jackson or Baton Rouge.
Florida last year? I’m still fricked up from playing SC in 2009…
There’s definitely not a quality of life difference between Oxford and Gainesville/Baton Rouge. I’m sure his entire family and extended family living in Oxford will be thrilled to move and “fit in” there.

You’re not fooling anyone; you were crying as you replied to this post. Florida, more than any other program, wants OP to be wrong, as the only thing you’ve been holding on to for the past two decades is the hope that traditional powerhouses still have an edge that no longer exists. You can’t make jokes about the MS schools moving to the Sunbelt so they can be more competitive because deep down you know you’re firmly in that same situation. It’s sad it’s taken you this long, we all knew it when you had no choice but to hire Billy Napier. Your program is the definition of a has been and will never recover to your former glory.

re: This season is so weird

Our season has been weird for me too. After having ~20 players go to the NFL and an inexperienced QB, I really expected an 8-win ceiling. I haven’t been nervous about any games because I feel like we’re playing with house money.

Back on topic regarding coaching changes, I agree with the above and it’s funny reading the FL/LSU fans talking. Even the talking heads are putting out ESPN articles regurgitating early 2000’s talking points about the different programs. They really put way too much into local talent and locking down recruits for four years when that era has obviously passed them by. Momma doesn’t care how many NCs you’ve won in the past and it’s all about your checks clearing and the prospect of making an NFL roster, something we more than proved is doable at Ole Miss just last year.

My hot take right now: not only do I think Ole Miss isn’t the massive step down from the traditional powerhouses, it might even be a better situation for D1 coaches. As evidenced by their actions, these blue-blood schools are delusional train wrecks while we’re extremely stable with 1/20th the risk of being fired, which increases the QOL tenfold. It’s hard to relax and minimize stress while doing hot yoga knowing you’re on the clock with a complete rebuild and boosters/admins breathing down your neck 24/7. In the current era, if I’m an in-demand coach with a family, then I’d take the Ole Miss job for 30% less pay in a heartbeat. Kiffin’s MMV and I might be competely off base, but that’s how I see it right now.

Here’s the thing football fans hate acknowledging: they’ll say shite like “I can’t believe he called XYZ that one series” when it doesn’t work out, but don’t think twice when he uses the same play/thought process a dozen other times and it worked out flawlessly. That first down is quickly forgotten and the bust forever seared in their brain. Remember, there’s a reason people who’ve forgotten more about football than we’ve ever known are paying him $1.65mm a year to call plays and he’s a top prospect for a HC position.

That’s as much directed at myself than anyone else; you can easily find me dog-cussing him and calling him an incompetent dumbass plenty of times here.
I found that one and watched it live, pretty disappointing and no chairs were thrown and no reporters cussed out. I’ll save you five min:

BK: “We need to play better as a team”.
Go read the A&M forums on Reddit (they popped up when I googled the story to find out wtf was going on because I don’t have social media). Holy shite, they absolutely have a huge liberal population on campus despite what we hear about them being the conservative alternative to Texas. There are thousands of replies on dozens of posts that are backing the professor and calling for protests.
