he probably would have beaten most UF teams of late with his FAU squads.

He lost to Florida in 2024 while HC at Ole Miss.

Didn't we hear the same thing about Brian Kelly and how he's going to dominate the college football world for the foreseeable future?

Except Kiffin hasn’t done shite in the SEC, yet. Poor comparison.

Lane single-handedly saved Billy’s Job in 24 by losing to UF.

He did this by starting a fourth string wide receiver at running back.

Not a fair comparison results wise at all
.

Spurrier coached in the SEC for 22 years

Won at UF
171-59-1
6 SEC Titles
84-14 SEC record at UF
1 National Title

Lane Kiff at Tenn and Ole Miss
SEC record 36-21
0 National titles
0 SEC titles

How are they close..at all....... I guess personality and the visor and offensive minded.

blasphemy of the highest order

quote:

The drama started on the first day of the SEC spring meetings on Tuesday in Destin. That's when current South Carolina and former Florida football coach Steve Spurrier confronted new Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin (Click for audio below).

As several coaches came out of a meeting room and waited for an elevator, a reporter told Spurrier that when Kiffin was asked earlier in the day about apologizing to Urban Meyer for calling him a cheater, Kiffin joked that he was still waiting for an apology from Spurrier for questioning whether Kiffin had taken a mandatory recruiting test for coaches.

Spurrier sighed and turned to Kiffin, who was standing nearby.

"I didn't accuse you of cheating," Spurrier said to an obviously embarrassed Kiffin. "I said, 'Is it permissible to call recruits before you were announced as head coach and before you had taken the test?' Now, you took the test online, and I didn't even know you could do that. ... I thought you had to take the test on campus and then get announced and then start calling."

Kiffin didn't respond. Kentucky head coach Rich Brooks and new Auburn coach Gene Chizik were also waiting for the elevator and got on with Spurrier and Kiffin. The sight drew laughter from several reporters, and before the elevator doors closed, Spurrier again said to Kiffin, "I didn't say you broke any rules. I just said, 'Was it permissible to make calls?' "

You can listen to an audio clip of Spurrier's confrontation by clicking here.

The audio for this report was provided by radio talk show host Heath Cline, formerly of Gainesville but now based in Columbia, S.C. You can listen to Cline's show on weekdays from 4-7 p.m. on 1075thegame.com.

Um..even Napier's terrible arse could have gone .750 against them. Mullen snd Muschamp(who I def miss having) would easily kill them by 30+ every game...
