LSU recently had to vacate a ton of football games for misbehaving. I don't think the LSU brass have much of an appetite for biting off more than they can chew.

I disagree. From his posturing and interviews it seems that is exactly what Governor Landry wants.
LSU has the worst administration - from governor, to school president, to athletic director - in the SEC. And it isn’t close.
