Today Kiffin brought in the best team Ole Miss can field. The 2021 Rebels are hands down the best team they’ve had since Eli Manning was QB1 just shy of 20 years ago when they claimed an embarrassing “co- western divisional championship” then impotently watched the actual Western Div Champion LSU go play in the championship game.

Today Saban traveled to Oxford with probably the weakest Bama team he’s fielded since 2009. Bama had already dropped two games and come very close to dropping even more. Bama came in vulnerable and beatable. Today was the perfect time to beat Bama.

Ole Miss is at its pinnacle while Alabama is fading to the point there is open discussion of the Bama dynasty being in its twilight.

Ole Miss had its best shot to beat Bama today. The stage was set perfectly. But it still wasn’t enough. The best Ole Miss team in two decades was still not good enough to beat the worst Bama team in over a decade.

No matter what Kiffin does, he knows now the best he can hope for at Ole Miss is maybe a 10 win season and a decent bowl. Simply put, the sad truth is Ole Miss cannot compete for a conference, much less national, championship.

Kiffin is coming to term with this right now. And that is why he will, as soon as the right job offer comes, leave Ole Miss behind.

I don’t really disagree with you, but that team that beat Alabama twice with Kelly and his paid for accomplices was better than this one

Actually they could have won this game if Kiffin was a CEO and not trying to be some firebrand. He's got a lot of growing to do. That being said, I'd take him any day if he was a committed OC but that's not going to happen. Until he embraces being a real HC and having some confidence on both sides of the ball, he'll keep going on with the Mickey Mouse football that never wins anything of substance.

This team is the Dollar Store version of the 2015 squad.

Technically it was supposed to be a rebuilding year after losing 85% of our offensive production from last year (Qb, top 3 rbs, and top 2 wr’s and our best OL. But Kiffin had a great portal class and actually has them playing together with 6 months of practice instead of years. Also hit on a lowly 3* RB that Alabama and Auburn didn’t give a look

I'm not sure Auburn can provide him with a better team though.

Not with NIL now.

He's not buying a Cam Newton at Auburn to give him an edge over teams who can also buy great players.

He has just as good a chance of winning at Ole Miss as he does at Auburn.

So it basically comes down to who can give him what he wants. Money? Ole Miss can easily match Auburn. Control? Same thing as before. Sweet Young Poon? Ole Miss got ya beat.

I'll be surprised if he jumps ship.

would help immensely if SEC refs were not used. Not sure which is more corrupt. Dems or SEC refs?

Coaching at Auburn is a Game of Thrones level struggle for power between warring factions for control and is a complete hellscape for any coach.

This is a rebuilding year. We lost both coordinators and a majority of our offensive and defensive playmakers after 2021.

And the team didn’t lose that game. They played their hearts out. There was some questionable play calling (it looked like Weis to me), especially at the end of the game, which hurt OM badly.

And I hate to sound like a LSU fan, but the refs didn’t do any favors for Ole Miss today. The officiating was horribly one sided.

Ole Miss cannot match Auburn in terms of dollars.

He’s not going to Bama’s lil bro.

If he leaves, he’ll go to Bama or another blue chip.

This is a rebuilding year at OM. And we are going to win 9 or 10. You need to start coping before insanity sets in.

I'd rather have Freeze who beat bama twice while at Ole MS over Kiffen who still has not beaten bama as HC at two different SEC schools.
