Ole Miss is out our starting 5* tight end trigg and 5* and key part of our run game Zach Evans. We are in a rebuilding year with transfers plugging the holes, first year qb with 6 games under his belt vs heisman qb lol. Tell me you don’t follow college football without telling me.

Why will Auburn not hire Carnell?

Ole Miss cannot match Auburn in terms of dollars.
You do know with incentives they’re paying him pretty close to 9m a year.

To have a chance at getting him you’ll need to make him the highest paid coach in college football. You willing to go 12m a year with a Jimbo type contract?

Is that really the best you have? Bama's little bro? What would that make OM? Bama's slam piece?

Just trying to make clear that Auburn is, and always will be, second fiddle to blue chip Alabama. Auburn is not a blue chip program. If Lane decides to leave Ole Miss for a school in Alabama, it’s not going to be Auburn.

Beyond that, Auburn is a total dumpster fire that is run by boosters. And as the poster above said, Lane is probably getting close to $10mil per year at OM. He’s not jumping ship for the dumpster fire except for a Jimbo fisher type contract but worth $12mil per year.

But back to the original thought: he’s not going to Bama’s lil bro. He’ll wait out Saban and see if the Bama door opens before he does anything. And that’s not happening this year.

I really think Kiffin would kill it in the NFL. He has the experience and I think players would get behind him. His mindset and attitude is perfect for the NFL.

You do realize you are in the same conference and division to Alabama right? To win anything of consequence you have to beat them so that state line you seem to be hung up on means dick when it comes to anything that actually matters. State lines are small school considerations. Real schools aim a little higher than being Egg Bowl champs.

It's not the money either. It's the ceiling of the program. Ours is NC. Yours is second in the division. Enjoy your second place trophy though.

Today Saban traveled to Oxford with probably the weakest Bama team he’s fielded since 2009. Bama had already dropped two games and come very close to dropping even more. Bama came in vulnerable and beatable. Today was the perfect time to beat Bama.

I really do not like comments like this. They seem to diminish another team while making excuses every single time Bama loses. Here is the truth. If you look at recruiting rankings, this Bama team was just as highly ranked as almost every other year since Saban began his dominance at Bama. They are really good and I guarantee you, almost every other school would gladly trade players with you with possibly the exception of Georgia. You have 5 star players and high 4 star players all over the field. You didn't lose (LSU and Tennessee) or almost lose (Texas, Texas A&M and Ole Miss) due to your lack of talent.

what promising coach would want to work for the clusterfk BOD and administration at Auburn? Certainly none the last time, as evidenced by the illustrious list of the venerable Iron Puppets. All apparently turned it down.

I’ll reword it for you and remove the state line statement to help you understand.

Auburn will never be a blue chip program like Alabama. Making a move from Ole Miss to Auburn is a lateral move as far as Kiffin is concerned. Nothing that Auburn can say or do will change that. Thems just the facts.
