Big deal if true. I was convinced he was going to Ohio State if they offered him.

Same. Him being an Ohio native it could have easily happened.

100%. Jury is still out on whether he can continue this, but glad to see SC stepped up to the plate to keep him.

UofSC has had a football and basketball coach of the year in the last couple of years. Hope this one works out better than the football one.

Which one was that? It must have happened while I was in Europe.

Beamer had one bad year. This is why Tennessee has had a brazillan coaches over the past two decades... ..

This. It does kind of scare me. Locking up a coach after 1 good season has plagued a lot of programs in a lot of sports (Muschamp for example) but I also understand the need to lock him down before someone else comes calling.

He’s done a helluva job this season. Should be national coach of the year imo.

At $4 million per year, this puts him between Eric Musselman, Arkansas ($4,100,000) and Nate Oats, Alabama ($3,418,644)

After an 11-21 season this year looked even better. He did a good job with a lot of upperclassmen.
Let's see if he can recruit or convince transfers to come in. Meechie will be a hard replacement with only 1-year left if he stays.

Pretty sure they were American. Brazilian’s typically prefer futbol or jiu jitzu.
Edit: I don’t think any UT fans would be surprised if Mike Hamilton hired a Brazilian head coach for $7.50 an hour, that would’ve been par for the course back then.
