You're thinking too hard. Saban has coached at Bama 17 seasons. They've won 6 titles. Actually, if they don't win this year, then his statement would be correct. Averaging a national title every three years and not going more than two years without one are two different things.

And you’re trying too hard. It was a rough approximation on a sports board you nerd

We have way too many unknowns but I expect us to make a serious run but we can easily earn 2 losses again this year

It’s to be expected given how they were prior to actually winning anything significant

I mean, we went a full 12 months between national championships. It was a long painful drought.

Listen.. I understand that Herbie is the “expert “ on college football. I like his takes and his thoughts.

However, in the playoff era he has only Once predicted the national champion for that year in pre-season. 2016 Clemson with DW4 returning. The rest of his picks have been wrong with all but a few not making the playoffs all together and some not making the Natty game. In most of the years he missed half the plying field.

I ok n his comparison to 2009, Bama wasn’t replacing coordinators and also had QB returning for his 2nd year as a Jr. Plus a RB you may have all heard of in Ingram finally winning Bamas first Heisman.

This is not 2009!

“Just when you (expletive) say ‘Nick’s done, Alabama’s done…”

I mean who among us didn’t think Bama was done for when they went from having the best recruiting class in 2021 to falling all the way down to the 2nd ranked class in 2022 AND THEN last year only barely had the best recruiting class in all of football.

I mean I think anyone who follows college football had Bama penciled in as an easy W at this point.

Really bold prediction by old Kurt.

Everyone, aside from the herd of mouth-breather Gumps, has already connected the dots on why those Bama defenses - really the entire roster -were so dominant back then. It’s literally screaming in your face and you go out of your way to pretend it doesn’t exist.

I have a hard time believing that they can win it all with the qb they will be forced to start

I think steel sharpens steel, but Clemson has shown us that a team can be successful with a soft schedule, too.

Seems rather odd that a Clemson fan wants to point at somebody elses schedule.

1. I disagree.
2. Why did Alabama lose the last two years, then?
3. If it was only because of your coordinators, then it is on Saban for keeping them.
4. If they develop players best, then why did Georgia win with a walk on QB, and Alabama is worried about their QB room?

These are simple, honest questions challenging your comments.

Maybe, but nobody knows for sure until all three coaches retire.

I don't think anyone argues otherwise. He's human. He makes mistakes. But the mistake you and many others are making is assuming that his mistake is some indication of him losing his touch... an irreversible trajectory. And to think that is arrogantly foolish

I don’t think Nick has slowed down or lost his touch.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t coaches who are equally getting just as good of results or surpassing him , Today.

Both can be true, and is generally what happens. One coach sets the bar and others strive to surpass it, doesn’t mean that coach has slipped. Just means someone else is now doing it better.

Alabama does develop talent no one can argue that, but so do other teams. Let’s not act like Bama has the exclusive pipeline to the NFL, cause that’s not true.

I do think that the top of the SEC and college football , has been impacted by the portal and NIL and the expanded playoff will just intensify it.

I think people are going to be really surprised at the teams who take advantage and how the playoffs shake out.
