Herbstreit is correct. If one player gets it..the team will be isolated. If he played in a game, so likely will other team.

The reality that athletes got this virus while playing against other players with the virus changed the way things will be until there is some guarantee it can’t be transferred.

This is the point we best put our faith in science and not the jocks.

Revelation is highly symbolic and certainly wasn’t written for a nation that didn’t exist on a continent that hadn’t been discovered. It’s a book misused by televangelist kooks who prey on the uneducated and the gullible. If you take Revelation as a literal account, then it contradicts several parables that Jesus taught about his second coming. The first four verses in Revelation teach you that the things written will quickly take place, not 2k years later. There isn’t some hidden code in Revelation for his return nor is it a Doomsday prophecy. The Coronavirus isn’t the apocalypse and it isn’t God’s wrath. It’s a naturally occurring virus just like countless other ones. It’s the nonsense that it is God’s wrath that drives people away from believing

Yeah, you wonder why a governor who knows damn well he refused these ventilators in the recent past would continually get on TV and castigate the president for a lack of these same items? And I was assured just a few posts upstream in this thread that Cuomo wasn't an empty-headed narcissist.

So, Cuomo lovers, how many deaths in the Empire State are on Gov. Press Conference's hands?

Neighbor is one of the best oncologist around. Not really his field but a brilliant guy. He was telling me that we will probably see the peak of this in a couple weeks and he anticipates everything will be back to normal by June 1 or shortly after. He also told me in January we wouldn’t finish the school year because of this. Thought his was nuts about that so I am going to listen to him this time.

Were you a condescending a-hole to him when he broke that bad news to you?

That we would be back rolling in the summer? No. When he told me the other I didn’t agree with him. But I don’t have to agree with a person all the time to like them. Don’t agree with my mom.

I was wrong. Big enough man to admit I was wrong.

That it would be bad enough for school to not finish.

and here is what Trump was saying.........

quote:

Jan. 22: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.” — Trump in a CNBC interview.

quote:

Jan. 30: “We think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five — and those people are all recuperating successfully. But we’re working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for us … that I can assure you.” — Trump in a speech in Michigan.

quote:

Feb. 10: “Now, the virus that we’re talking about having to do — you know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat — as the heat comes in. Typically, that will go away in April. We’re in great shape though. We have 12 cases — 11 cases, and many of them are in good shape now.” — Trump at the White House. (See our item “Will the New Coronavirus ‘Go Away’ in April?“)

quote:

Feb. 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!” — Trump in a tweet.

and so forth and so on

It’s not. We aren’t going back here. E learning here. Which is kind of a pain. But I get it.

ETA. Well that’s not official. But don’t see it happening

He's wrong and you're wrong. Nothing will be back to normal in June or September or June, 2021.

Really? You think so? Just a hunch or you got some other information? Not trying to be a smart arse just curious why you feel that way.

I don’t really know what to expect with this anymore. I see too many projections to guess. And it would simply be a guess on my part. I look at the Hopkins Models but that’s about it

He waited too long to do shite for the nation. You won't come across a bigger Republican than me. However, I am not a sheep. Trump blew this off as nothing for way longer than he should. Hell, he should have taken it seriously when it was running rampant through China. Only a moron would think this was some virus that only affected one nation.

The most expensive event in the history of the world is happening right now. It will cause a worldwide recession that will last for years in many countries. All manner of live events and traditional gatherings will change in the most basic ways - forever. Concerts, sporting events, and even dining in restaurants will change. Fewer people will congregate and revenue for large sporting events, concerts & festivals will wither. Many restaurants will go out of business - and fewer people will eat out for the longterm. People will be more independent, spend their time in individual or family pursuits as opposed to traditional sporting events and they will NEVER forget how much anxiety they felt during the Pandemic.
