I think the perception at the time was that Butch Davis at Tennessee (don't laugh) and Muschamp at Florida were outrecruiting Richt. Leaving out the western teams

I think it'll be an easy comparison to make moving forward between Mullen and Kirby because they are both at comparable schools from a resource perspective.

That I agree with.

Muschamp left Mullen a loaded defense.

Mullen's offense won't really fly until he gets a QB who can run between the tackles and take the beating that comes along with that. Mullen also has not closed the talent gap in recruiting. If anything, it's getting wider.

I guess you guys should print those shirts and hang those banners.

What in the hell are you talking about? He has every banner you can have to hang except a NC in his first 4 years. SEC, playoffs, playoff win, Sugar Bowl, Rose Bowl. This place is a cesspool of bs.

Muschamp killed it on the recruiting trail compared to Richt and it wouldn't surprise me if Bitch did to

Our '10-'13 classes were the worst 4 year stretch in UGA recruiting since the end of the Ray Goof era.

This isn't accurate. Several weeks ago there was a thread and this came up. Comparing the incoming recruiting class averages over the last 4 years, yes, Mullen is closing the talent gap, so is Pruitt at Tennessee.

Feel free to search for the thread.

Kirby Smart was gifted a solid program by Mark Richt. Saban arrived at Michigan State to a program that hadn't had a winning season in five years.

Total team talent:

18: 3 (963), 12 (835), 15 (825)
19: 3 (960), 15 (835), 16 (830)

If its closing, its not by enough to really notice or make note of.

That's impressive that he could do that while at South Carolina.

Georgia now has more top 150 players than the rest of the east combined and then some. It will take many years to catch up

Muschamp's defensive recruiting was so good at Florida that McElwain and Mullen both benefitted from it.

And this is completely meaningless.
Either compare their complete records or not.
But I understand your selective comparison; to leave out the national titles.
So stop the bullshite.

The problem with that is Georgia haven't won a National title since 1980 and won't get another one as long as Kirby Smart the head coach.

While it was better than most new coach situations, the situation at Georgia post-Richt was not as peachy as people make it out to be. The 2015 season was chaos, and the roster had deteriorated pretty severely from what it had been earlier in Richt’s tenure. He was fired more for that than anything else.

Let’s give Mullen time until Florida is rebuilt!

Mullen isn't heading into his fifth season with talent everywhere.

Why do Georgia fans keep comparing Kirby to coaches in entirely different situations?

What "bullshite?" and when did either win a NC their first 4 years as a HC?

My point being (which obviously goes over the head of every LSU fan) is that both gained valuable HC expirence at P5 schools before the had their current gigs and both are better coaches for it.

Kirby didn't get any HC expirence before he took the job at UGA. It makes a difference and you're fooling yourself if you don't think thats the case.

Florida and Georgia are always at each others throat! Meanwhile Missouri will once again sneak up on them to win the east division!
