I agree with him.

From SDS

quote:

Smart noted that a wider field could have made a big difference for Georgia in recent years.

“We’ve had I guess four consecutive years you finish in the top-10, maybe the top seven or eight teams in the country, you’re on the outside looking in a couple times because of one game,” Smart said. “You would certainly like that opportunity to grow and get more teams involved in it.”

And several other teams as well.

Kirby can't win the majority of his big games so he's lobbying for an 8 team playoff. Surprise, surprise. Do better Kirby, and quit being a bitch.

When the semis are good games more than 20-25% of the time, then I'll be interested in expansion.

I thought you were referring to Maxwell Smart as in "Get Smart"?

Define "big games" in you opinion.

That outline of the SEC is a visual eyesore

Makes no sense to have Alabama and Auburn in separate conferences, nor does it make sense to have the Mississippi schools in a "Southwestern" conference.

That's pretty vague though. Every game matters. If you lose one you're pretty much out of the playoff picture for most teams.

Exactly... didn't take you long to expose his stupid comment.

For what it's worth Kirby did beat Auburn for the conf championship in '17. The problem is the behemoth that is Alabama, not so much Georgia not being able to compete in big games. Alabama knows how to come back from behind and win a game.

More football between good teams is better than less. Do away with the cupcake games and expand the playoffs or conference games.

Not everyone can be 2nd in their division and still get a chance at a championship.

Do we really need to see 4 sec teams or multiple acc and big ten teams in a playoff every season when the sec and the conference schedules itself does a pretty good job of eliminating the contenders?
I don't need to see rematches of games already played.

Also, it would be pointless to have an uneven number of playoff games and give higher seeds byes. That would be such a huge disadvantage for the teams that have to play an extra game. The team with the bye is going to win the majority of those games.

While I disagree with him and think they should leave the playoffs alone....I also disagree with your post. Very few coaches win the majority of their big games. Probably Saban and.....who? Maybe Dabo? That doesn't mean he can't have an opinion.

Again, I disagree with his opinion, but he has the right to have one.

Agreed. They have a hard time finding three teams with a shot. Why expand and make more bad games?

That a bad look for Kirby to be the one to go a-begging. Let's expand the playoffs so my top 3 team in talent every year can play too.

Beat somebody when it counts Kirby. Apparently, that life's lesson didn't carry over to Athens when he packed his bags.

You’re right.

Too many juggernauts in the Swest.

Alabama
LSU
Texas
OU
Arkansas

All teams that have won a championship since I was born.
