Kirby can't win the majority of his big games so he's lobbying for an 8 team playoff.

LOL dude is 8-6 vs top ten teams with half of those L's coming to the greatest dynasty of all time another coming to one of the greatest teams of all time (LSU). Now the AU and UF loss were unacceptable however we wrecked that same Aubie team several weeks later.

We are doing just fine with Kirby. Once Saban retires you bama fans are going to go insane trying to cope with the unavoidable regression to the mean.

Kirby Smart is not Nick Saban. We know that but he is a damn good coach.

Well, I can see how "regressing to the mean" would be a Dawg expression.

In Tuscaloosa, we're more about maxing potential.

This could double or triple the amount of good playoff games.

would be pointless to have an uneven number of playoff games and give higher seeds byes.

It’s the opposite of pointless.

Let's expand the playoffs so my top 3 team in talent every year can play too.

Quit supporting the national hatred of the sec: The sec almost always has 2 deserving teams, but OU or ND gets the spot over the 2nd.

Yep. The problem with that right now is that the selection committee isn't willing to make controversial decisions, so you end up with a 1 loss ND that is just totally overmatched from a talent standpoint. Did they have a better resumé than teams like UGA, Florida, OU, and A&M? I would say they did. Would literally any of those teams been a more compelling matchup with Alabama even though 3 would have been rematches? Absolutely.

Very few coaches win the majority of their big games. Probably Saban and.....who? Maybe Dabo?

No. Dabo doesn't win the majority of his "big games". The ACC is weak as frick so he doesn't play any big games during the regular season. The only big games Clemson is involved in are during the playoffs. Last season they got absolutely crushed by OSU. The year before LSU annihilated them. 2018 Bama destroyed them. Etc etc.

Sure he's won 2 titles, but he's also LOST way more "big games".

Kirby is only highlighting his failures as he goes into season 6. TAMU would have the argument to make in that they were the SEC team left at the altar.

I believe Dabo is something like 6-4 in playoff games

Yes I'm sure. Bama defeated Clemson 24-6 January 1st, 2018. Go check smart guy.

Dabo's last few playoff games have been absolute shitfests.

While I like the premise, I think the execution could be improved.

First thing I would suggest is swap UK, SCarolina and NCSU with F$U, Miami and GATech. If you’re planning on deconstructing the major conferences you might as well do it in a way that makes geographic sense.

UGA was better than OU/ND in 2018 and better than OU in 2019, but I doubt A&M were either season.

Again, quit supporting the rest of the nation in their attacks against the SEC. Makes you look like a turn coat.

They make the playoffs every year because they play absolutely NO ONE all season. They've been getting EXPOSED quite a bit lately. My only regret from the Bama 2020 season is that my boys didn't get to horsefrick Clemson. I'm 100% sure it would've happened. OSU took it up the arse quite well tho

Though the power is not equivalent, four of teams in that version of the SEC have won championships in my lifetime. Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn.

That would be "2017 Bama" though.

Last two maybe. The two before those were good wins though.

Furthermore, Alabama can play in that juggernaut Swest division and still have 5 games left to play whoever they want.

Their schedule can look like this.

Week 1. Open with patsy Tennessee
Week 2. At ou. Conference game
Week 3. NC state non conf game
Week 4. At OkSt conf game
Week 5. MSU conf game
Week 6. At ole miss conf game
Week 7. Texas conf game
Week 8. At Arky conf game
Week 9. Off
Week 10. LSU conf game
Week 11. Missouri non conf
Week 12. Go5 homecoming game
Week 13. At Auburn non conf

That’s a good schedule. You still get to play SEast teams.

Win half of those and you can claim a national title.

They haven't won since beating TOSU a few years ago, the Buckeyes said that Clemson still signs also.
