remember an LSU team in the WEST that lost 2 games and won the SEC and went to the BCS in 2007.

Another year when 2 of the best 4 teams in the nation were sec teams.

Thanks for further proving my point!

Players opting out is a real problem for non-playoff teams. I think also there is a general lack of interest by the players that don't opt out when it comes to non-playoff games.

At the end of the 2018 season when Georgia played Texas, you could tell within five minutes that Georgia had was not ready to play and played like the did not care. Last year when Florida played Oklahoma after that bruising battle in the SECCG, you just knew that Florida was not going to look good at all in that game. The loser of the SECCG has lost their bowl games, it seems like most all of the time. Georgia did beat Baylor at the end of the 2019 season. The SEC is 1-3 in the last four bowl games when the loser of the SECCG is paired against whomever. I have not looked up their record in the last ten years but it has to be a losing one.

I know, my bad. Many UGA fans and posters don’t act like somebody’s girlfriend trying to hard to fit in. I apologize, and will go back to being specific.

Somewhat agree and disagree here.

I'm not sure what exactly happens with UF if they play OU at full strength but OU was legit at the end of the season last year but it seems that the Sugar Bowl is a far bigger deal for the Big 12 rep than the team from the SEC. Sucks but it seems to be reality.

One reason I think Kirby did one of his better coaching jobs vs Baylor and again vs Cincinnati (LOL all you want) BOTH games were arguably the biggest games in the history of both schools and obviously not so much for UGA plus we had multiple players sitting out, suspended or missing (James Cook) for both games.

No. Dabo doesn't win the majority of his "big games". The ACC is weak as frick so he doesn't play any big games during the regular season. The only big games Clemson is involved in are during the playoffs. Last season they got absolutely crushed by OSU. The year before LSU annihilated them. 2018 Bama destroyed them. Etc etc.

Sure he's won 2 titles, but he's also LOST way more "big games".

I agree. Thank you for making my point.
The fact that Kirby does not win the majority of his games does not somehow make him inferior.

As far as i know, Saban is the only coach that wins the majority of his big games. I don't think I would be making some wild statement by saying Kirby is not as good as Saban. I mean....who is?

Do away with the cupcake games and expand the playoffs or conference games.

A lot of those playoff games have been akin to a more talented school playing a cupcake. The following playoff games were decided by 10 points or more:

2015 Rose Bowl (59-20 Oregon over FSU)
2015 CFP NCG (42-20 Ohio State over Oregon)
2015 Cotton Bowl (38-0 Alabama over MSU)
2015 Orange Bowl (37-17 Clemson over Oklahoma)
2016 Fiesta Bowl (31-0 Clemson over Ohio State)
2016 Peach Bowl (24-7 Alabama over Washington)
2018 Sugar Bowl (24-6 Alabama over Clemson)
2019 Cotton Bowl (30-3 Clemson over Notre Dame)
2019 Orange Bowl (45-34 Alabama over Oklahoma)
2019 CFP NCG (44-16 Clemson over Alabama)
2020 Peach Bowl (63-28 LSU over Oklahoma)
2020 CFP NCG (42-25 LSU over Clemson)
2021 Sugar Bowl (49-28 Ohio State over Clemson)
2021 Rose Bowl (31-14 Alabama over Notre Dame)
2021 CFP NCG (52-24 Alabama over Ohio State)

Seems like a better idea than a committee.

The Rose bowl, Sugar bowl and the SEC championship game are games that don't matter?

The PLAYOFFS is all that matters. It's the playoffs or BUST. If it isn't crystal, it simply isn't.

Not everyone can be 2nd in their division and still get a chance at a championship.

It’s not like Alabama is the only team to have that happen; in fact they weren’t even the first. Nebraska played in the BCS championship game after the ‘01 season even after they got blasted in their last game by Colorado (who was their division champion). And Ohio State made the playoffs in ‘16 even though they were beat head to head by the division champ Penn State...

It’s just that Bama took advantage of the opportunity whereas the other two schools did not...not to mention in Bama’s case, their conference champion still made the championship games in both years whereas the Big 12 & Big 10 champions were left out in favor of non-division champions in ‘01 & ‘16...

In 5 years that what he has to show for all those 5 stars. One semi-win. Congrats. But please stop talking about your bowl season success. Yeah, you're better than Kentucky, no doubt.

Absolutely. Better games. More meaningful games. It’s really a no brainer if you’re smart.
