Let's face it- this kid got saddled with nearly impossible expectations prior to this season. Did anyone not think there was a least a chance this wouldn't be a seamless transition?

I just hate to see a kid bearing the brunt of so much criticism at once. But that's the nature of big-time college football, these days.
I believe he has the talent. Honestly, I'd like to see him bounce back. You could see it on the kid's face, yesterday....it was a tough situation.

He'd be facing criticism even if he hadn't been annointed the best QB ever.

Yeah, I wish our fans would lay off him.

Sucks, but that is how it is. Seen it over and over and over through the years.

Jeremy Johnson is likely to go #1 overall. LSU can't compete with that. -undecided

It's still early. As an LSU fan, I remember that Jamarcus Russell took quite a few games before he hit his stride as a QB. But when he did, oh my...

He's gone from 3 ints to 2 to 1. This next week is when he finally puts it all together and throws the ball forward to his receivers.

IMO we all have spread the criticism quite evenly among all things Auburn. Not just the QB. Even if JJ had been average in the first three games, their record would be the same, and quite frankly would have similar expectations for the rest of the year.

Their D line is every bit as bad as JJ. Green QB's get ya beat, especially on the road.

I do feel bad for players sometimes when they are getting defeated really bad. I get caught up in the emotions of a game like anyone else, but I try to remember that they're not professionals and are just kids playing a game they love. Criticism is fine as long as it's not overboard.

Now once they make the jump to pro anything goes.

I think JJ will be fine. He has ability. Just has to put all the pieces together.

I felt bad for him too. I think he's going to be a serviceable QB at the end of this season but Malzahn has to build his system around him and his strengths and develop him for that system.

Seriously- it's not like he DOESN'T WANT to do well. He wants to succeed more than anyone else.
I hate the cheap shots. Didn't like it with our guys- don't like it happening to him. We all know fans can be brutal. But he's not a professional.
The coaching staff needs to craft their offense to better suit his abilities. Obviously he does some things well- that was a great QB draw play, he made.....

I think he's a good qb with a lot of talent. I also think he's a bad fit for Auburn's offense. He's not a spread or option qb, IMO. Square peg, round hole unfortunately.

From what I've seen its not his fault. He really doesn't have much talent around him. Duke Williams was suppose to be the man but was shut down by a true freshman

Yeah - they are not pros. I hate to see any kid playing the game get crucified....Bama fans have been horrible about Griffith.

He's played worse than any auburn qb I've ever seen. And I've seen kiehl Frazier and Clint Moseley put on the orange and blue.

Oh, I know. I'm primarily talking about the media hype that was thrust down prior to the season.... I heard "plug and play" so many times since the SEC Media Days....I remember thinking if this doesn't play out IMMEDIATELY, this kid could get swept away, by all of this......

He literally threw the ball backwards against LSU. It wasn't dropped and fumbled, it was thrown the wrong way. He had receivers open and under threw them ten yards. He can't see a middle linebacker sitting in the zone, I mean that, he literally can't see them for some reason.

I'm not defending people destroying him but he certainly has earned a spot on the bench so far. Whether it is a mental thing or a nagging thing wrong with him, he needs to sit for a game until he can figure it out.
