but thats for his players. y'all are making it sound like he jumped ship for HIS payday, and OM was going to give him their entire state if he wanted it. so he didn't leave here for HIS money, he went to the school that was going to give him a better opportunity to build a great roster, which takes more than 1 year and 1 year NIL cycle.

Ole Miss offered to match his pay, he said no.

LSU has more resources from a roster construction standpoint. It just is what it is.

He left because he didn't believe he could win a title in Oxford.

yall... Don't think many OM said he left for more money. OM was his longest tenure, stayed longer then I thought he would. Longer than most of us thought he would.

He just doesn't know how to leave without throwing a few gallons of gas on the walls and flicking a match as he walks out.

Sounded like he didn't think they could beat Indiana in that quote.

I don't think he beats Miami really though.

what was OM's offer? i believe they were equal. so he was getting a pay raise regardless for making OM a playoff team. shite, he should be governor of the state for accomplishing that.

So you truly believe we would given him a $4 million a year raise without LSU.

Back to the question. Did Lane get a massive pay raise going to lsu or did he not?

reports out of BR, Oxford and Gainesville were that the offers from each university were all equal, or close to it, that $$ wasn't the issue FOR HIM.

LSU didn't give him a pay raise. we paid him market value at the time of the hire. OM was going to give him a pay raise.

again, CLK said himself, it was what LSU offered in terms of roster building. OM can't even sniff that.

He left for the better job, better stadium, better name, better prestige.

Didn't quit on the team

Friend, Lane Kiffin resigned from Ole Miss on November 30th. So quit is exactly what he did.

quote:

Lane Kiffin officially resigned from Ole Miss on November 30, 2025, to accept the head coaching position at LSU

The ex-Ole Miss coach has continued to be vocal on social media over the Rebels' run from afar after bolting for LSU at the end of November. He's also benefited from Ole Miss' two CFP wins against Tulane and Georgia, as LSU is paying his postseason bonuses from his Ole Miss contract.

What Happened to Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss?

Do you know what resigned means? It appears you do not. Here you go.

quote:

resigned

/r?'zind/

The word "resigned" has two distinct meanings depending on how it is used:

1. The adjective meaning (calmly accepting)

As an adjective, it means having a submissive, uncomplaining, or yielding attitude. It describes someone who has reluctantly but calmly accepted an unpleasant reality or difficult situation because they realize it cannot be changed.

Example: "He was resigned to the fact that his favorite sports team would miss the playoffs this year."

Example: "She let out a resigned sigh as she realized the traffic meant she would be late."

2. The verb meaning (quitting a job or position)

As the past tense of the verb resign, it means to voluntarily step down, vacate, or quit a job, office, or official position.

Example: "The CEO resigned from the company after a successful five-year run."

was OM and UF going to give the same amount? so he didn't get paid market value FOR GOING TO LSU, he was getting that at LSU or OM or UF.

he didn't want to stay in oxford.

So thrilled to see another threat on this stuff.

Kiffin did not leave for money. We would have matched or come close enough to whatever LSU was going to offer pay wise.

It was the total resources for football that he wanted. That includes NIL budget, stadium, and the fact that Louisiana has a lot of talent in-state and no other major university in the state. It makes it a lot easier to win. And quite frankly, maybe the most important reason for him is you get more twitter followers being the coach of LSU than you do Ole Miss. You get talked about more as the coach of LSU than Ole Miss. Can't really argue that and followers and attention mean more to him than money.

Didn’t a ton of ole miss fans show up at his kid’s football game begging him (a lot of them were crying too) to stay in Oxford? That was weird.
