And so the Gus Bus heads west. Apparently cost will not matter. USC demands a genius!

according to InsideUSC, a former SEC coach is likely taking over for the remainder of the season

Ed Orgeron leading candidate to be interim coach. Sources do not think Clancy Pendergast has personality for job #USC

This is the part I like...

To recap, Lane Kiffin pulled of team bus outside LAX private terminal and fired. Team went back to #USC without him

Saban!!!

In all seriousness, I think Jack Del Rio might take it now that he isn't an NFL head coach. Loved JDR in his early years in Jax, and I think he'd make a great coach for USC.

if you read through the tweets, they decided to fire him during the third quarter.then pull him off the bus, where he left his bags because he thought he was being called into a brief, routine meeting.

i like this one:

What got Lane Kiffin fired? His attitude changed after 2011's 11-2 season. Became even more arrogant, alienated many people #USC

lane kiffin an arrogant a-hole? who would've thought it!

On Sirius/XM they were saying James Franklin is the name mentioned the most so far.

Living in LA>Good Facilities. As for fan support, LA is a major sporting town with no pro football team. If you win at USC, you're a rock star in that town.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

And I could see Petrino taking it, but no sane coach with a halfway stable job doing so. While Kiffin is a complete douche, USC also makes itself look like an even bigger clusterfrick by firing him in that fashion.

That is only because Rick Barnes called in and said he would not take the job.

The real question is where does kiffin resurface?

Kiffin gets hired by some CUSA or Sun Belt team, returns to Knoxville in a couple of years and thrashes the Vols, resulting in countless moonshine-induced suicides.

The Gus Bus would actually fit in well there.

He deserved to be fired in that manner after he left UT in the middle of the night without speaking to the Vol players.

I see Saban taking both jobs. He would fly to whichever school has the bigger game that week to coach. I'm sure both schools would be happy with that.

I think Sumlin holds out for NFL job. If he does go, Art Briles to aTm.

I could see Sumlin, Sarkisian, or Petrino fitting well.

I really think Jack Del Rio or James Franklin are two guys who would take the job, I'm sure they'll talk to Sumlin as well, I just don't think he would switch college jobs, now the NFL is a different story
