re: Going to Lisbon in a few weeks (updated with pics in op and on pg 2)

Pastei de nata is a famous little pastry they have. It's excellent.
I'd also recommend doing a free walking tour. The history of the city is pretty cool.
3 days is plenty of time there. You could then visit this famous forest north of Lisbon for a day (forgot name) and then do two days in Porto.

Most important invention of the last 50 years- the internet or the microchip?

This is a spinoff from the OT.
I don't have extensive tech knowledge so I tend to want to say the internet. That was the consensus on the OT...but would the internet have been possible without microchips (microprocessors, memory chips,...)? The argument for second place is obviously strong, can the argument be made for first place or is it not even close?

I think the consensus is the internet. Second place would be the microchip/microprocessor I suppose? I think I'm going to make a spinoff thread on the tech board.

re: Olympics to allow transgenders to compete without having surgery

As I understand it transexual persons physically have the organs of both sexes and transgender is whether or not you personally identify with one gender or the other.
So, my question is- is the IOC allowing transexual or transgender athletes compete in the gender of their choice?

He went to Bullis in Potomac near DC; it's a good private school.
The Bethesda/Potomac area is very well educated. Highest college degree per capita numbers in the country. All of the high schools there, even the public ones, are good.

Nice comparison

He reminds me of DeAndre Yedlin on the USMNT in "football." He was probably too young an inexperienced to just show up and play in a World Cup, but despite his lack of polish, he has something you can't teach- speed with the ball. And the confidence to stick his nose and make something happen.

I don't remember. It doesn't really matter they all cover the same stuff. Princeton review has good ones.
Don't let the size of the book sike you out. Just chip away at it and you'll improve.

Hey buddy, take an ACT course and do the homework. If that is too expensive just buy the prep book, sit down for an hour a day, and do the homework.
