A. There is no guarantee he can recruit Top 10 classes at Alabama just because Saban did.
B. He’s not facing a PAC-12 schedule anymore.

I just saw Deboer’s recruiting record at UW for 2021, 2022 and 2023. It makes me so happy…

What does that have to do with him being at Alabama? Do you think it will be the same or something?

As an Auburn fan, I can tell you that we thought as you do right after Brian Harsin was hired at Auburn.

Keep in mind, the best talent is in The Southeast for obvious reasons and luring those kids 3,000 miles to the west coast is hard.

You can’t really argue the PNW is the reason for poor recruiting while Oregon has pulled in top 10 classes pretty much yearly.

IMO, it should make you worried. If he can do that with subpar talent, what can he do with top 10 classes. You realize it will be a lot easier to recruit to Bama than it was at Washington right?

I would say that Oregon has had it's own advantages compared to other West Coast teams in the past several years.
Having Nike there is a game changer.

Ya but now all the schools in the south have ample money and are willing to spend to get talent and don’t have to compete for talent in their own state like Bama does now with the WAR EAGLES haha , I just love saying that. You saw how many schools in the SEC had 2-3 losses this year. Schools are becoming so much more equal across the board , I don’t think you can really argue that. From this year forward that is. Kind of the first year I’d say where almost every school REALLY got their Nil machines humming.

Ya Oregon without Nike is irrelevant. We have the worlds greatest brand of all time lol.

One legit season huh? Idiot

He definitely didn’t take over a horrible UW team and turn them into a top 10 team his first year.

Again, you could substitute the word Washington with Boise State and Alabama with Auburn, and your post would be very much in line with Auburn posts from December 2020.

Look, no one knows for sure how this hire will go. But what we do know, because we have Harsin as a prime example, is it’s extraordinarily hard for a west coast coach who has no knowledge or ties to the Southeast to come into the SEC and be successful.

Already we’ve heard from the top high school coaches in Alabama that they’re taking a “wait and see” approach on this guy. Well these coaches already know coaches like Hugh Freeze, Kirby Smart, Lane Kiffin, etc. If you think this guy is going to come in and there not be a process of building new bridges, then I have bad news for you.

You actually have a post that's intriguing.... But I think Hugh has her on staff as his recruiting coordinator

If he doesn't bring the defense up a few notches DeBoer won't win anything of significance. We'll have a Lincoln Riley - Oklahoma tenure. He'll start off great but as time goes the program will noticeably regress and start to lose more games.

that has yet to be proven. He has no ties to the south. I have heard all of the "but saban and Meyer" BS. The difference is........saban and Meyer were outstanding recruiters when they came to this part of the country. DeBoer had the 36th ranked class this year.

The problem with Bama’s NIL is it’s pretty much non existent. Even Saban was begging for NIL $$$ after the playoffs.

Bama has relied on the Saban brand to sell to recruits. That is gone. Having Saban pop in to the complex every once in a while to say Hi isn’t going to be enough to get players to Bama.
