Alabama was a 4th and 31 away from losing to a 6 win Auburn team that had just lost got blown out by New Mexico St(with the now Vandy QB) and missing the playoffs completely.

It would have been Saban's first loss to an unranked team since like 2007.

And then they beat Georgia the next week by the same score.

The pattern was already there. Talent and entitlement. Also only beat Arkansas(4-8) by 3, A&M(7-6) by 6, etc.

That's what I'm talking about. Those are three games that could have easily been a loss rather than wins. We struggled in games against teams that we should have blown out. But the problems we had this past year were also present in 2024. We just had the ball bounce our way enough to pull out the win.

That loss to Oklahoma is why he didnt make the playoff.

Oklahoma wasn't a great team.

He sounds like Freeze here if we are being honest.

I'm torn on the topic. I think the 12 team playoff is dumb and it's downright silly to be arguing over who the 11th or 12th place team is. Alabama wasn't a national championship quality team, they weren't going to win it. The only thing to gain was a more respectable opponent to lose to. BFD.

At the same time, I'm not going to pretend teams like Clemson, SMU etc should have been there either. That was bullshite, and the way the teams are selected is absolutely shitty and should be changed. AQ should not exist, period. And the idea that conference championship games don't count is just some shite they made up on the spot to keep Alabama out and was not at all the job of the committee. I won't pretend otherwise.

Overall, the bigger issue is that some teams have been trying to push for harder schedules in general and Alabama is one of them. Wanting to start playing 2 power conference teams OOC every year etc. Doing that makes no sense if there are teams getting AQ status in shite conferences playing shite schedules. And that's not an Alabama only issue.

He's clearly talking about other conferences(ACC) vs SEC schedule. Much ado about nothing.....and he's not wrong. BTW.

Idk what game it was, but during one of the losses their defensive player lost his absolute mind in the closing minutes and would have had his arse tanked by the GOAT for the way he acted.

LSU fans will find out what’s it likes playing at OU… it’s no cakewalk and didn’t LSU get mopped by Bama ? Kind of a weird thing to say . .

Dickriding other teams is the official pastime of Louisiana residents.

That analysis is probably going to make Brian Kelly sad to learn

Meh, Brian Kelly has been objectively better at LSU than DeBoer has been at Bama.

Now downvote away.

I’m sorry but what does that have to do with my comment?

All I was stating was the behavior that DeBoer allowed on that field with no repercussions would have never happened under Saban.

Saban would have yanked his arse off the field the minute he kicked the football.

Here’s what I was discussing.

Not sure what this had to do with LSU or OU but keep running your mouth.

Bama fans are incapable of defending the DeBoer hire without mentioning Brian Kelly.

Less than 1% of their fanbase knew his name 22 months ago

Surely LSU and Brian Kelly could never lose to such a scrub.

On a related note, if Kelly loses to Bama this season his record will be 1-5 overall and 1-3 at LSU. Objectively better…

They hate the fact that Kelly has been objectively better at LSU, with less talent than DeBoer at Alabama.
