Uh... Yeah it is.

"He felt uncomfortable."

That's something that is absolutely unprovable. Massive, and I mean massive can of worms.

If his sister had not enrolled at UGA after the fact, it's really a non-issue and nobody would blink an eye at his waiver. However, he stayed at UGA when nothing was preventing him from leaving, and his sister showed up later. This is nothing more than an "I didn't win the starting job so I'm transferring."

And now what you'll see is a trend of players who claim students called them names and they "felt uncomfortable" with their homies backing their stories up for clout.

A horrible precedent.

Fields should've never been at UGA, but Kirby and the bagman made promises they couldn't keep

So many of you UGA fans are blaming Fields, but Kirby Smart is the cause of this. If he'd actually have given Fields a chance to play some significant series in games already decided, develop his skills, he'd probably have stayed. Instead, Smart would put him in the game, call a run play, then take him right back out. He should have handled that situation like Saban did with Hurts and Tua in 2017. Kirby is a very good recruiter, but he's not a very good coach yet. He may be eventually, but he's not so far.

Meh, coaches can move around whenever so it was only a matter of time before it moved to players. The ncaa makes a ton of money off the kids, so they’ll do whatever they can to keep them happy besides paying them. Imo eventually colleges will pay players or kids will start going to an nfl developmental league.

Dude, I'm pretty much joking. Racism sucks, but getting to use the race card when something does your way is shitty.

Tampering is about to become a LOT more common. Any 5* player that doesn't get immediate playing time will be in the transfer portal after their freshman year, with some BS excuse to guarantee eligibility

Those athletes that cannot afford a decent lawyer will get pro bono work from the school of their choice.

I'm actually not joking about the Kirby part. If Kirby is going to take on these diva personalities then he better damn well learn to manage it.

The funniest thing about all of this is that Justin Fields' family probably used the money that they paid Fields to go to Georgia to prove that Georgia is a racist institution.

What a great day to be alive.

I don't think anyone saw Fields being a diva. All through the recruiting process and through camp, everything was about how good of a kid and how hard of a worker he is. Him transferring was not surprising. The way he dragged UGA through the mud to do so was.

I love all these people who immediately claim that a player was paid if they didn't end up getting the kid.

The truth is that Justin Fields didn't play because he's not a pro-style QB. He doesn't have QB acumen; he's an athlete that happens to play QB. He didn't process information quickly, he doesn't know how to manage an offense. We all saw what happened when he went back for a pass; looked ay his primary and then panicked when he wasn't open.

He is light years away from running a pro-style system.

can respect that opinion. I don't agree with it personally, but there's nothing wrong with thinking players should be able to transfer without penalty. What I don't like is the NCAA having a rule and then letting players exploit it. Either enforce the rules you have or don't have them at all.

That’s what the Alabama High school Association did with the girl basketball player from Troy, but caught hell for it. They had a rule and they enforced it. We live in a time where people don’t think rules should apply to them and they have the platform to get people on their side.

A random student means absolute dick.

A fellow athlete, who was proven to commit the deed, is another story.

How are y'all not understanding that?

And UGA provided the key to his victory.

That's a lot of guys coming out of high school, especially ones from run oriented offenses. They get developed in college and start picking up on coverages and pre-snap reads. The progression of Lamar Jackson at Louisville is a good comparison.

None of that is true.

He's a smart kid with a strong, accurate arm and some athleticism. Plus he was better at the beginning of his first CFB season than any QB in the last few years save for Tua (and that includes Trevor Lawrence).

Think about it. What happens if this kid leads his team to 2 straight playoffs and ends up going top 1-3 in the NFL draft? It's a distinct possibility. Are you going to eat those words?

Nobody has read his petition to the NCAA for immediate eligibility, and almost every single QB that transfers this year will be eligible.

I'm both glad he's got a shot to maximize his talent and glad to have Jake Fromm since right now he's UGA's best chance to win next year.
