Thing is, he clearly is the better qb so by now, it's roundly expected that he will supplant Hurts by at least the 3rd game of the season. From most accounts it isn't so clear cut at UGA, but since Fields hasn't even taken a snap, those reports could be dead wrong.

I'd expect the debate to be more intense because of the closeness of the talent, and the possible racial overtones. Either way, Dog fans should be in for an "interesting" season...just how they should want it!

man, PLEASE!.....do yourself a HUGE favor and lose that naivety.

Missing the point. Even if one or the other does transfer, they won't make it the media circus in turned into. Good guy, good families. They knew when they signed what they were getting into.

Have to say though, after watching Jalen, I can understand why Tua's parents felt like he wasn't getting a fair shake. Fromm will be much harder to beat out and the Fields realize it.

Not a good comparison. Most college football fans don't even know who is Brandon McElwain, and USC in 2016 was a SEC also ran.

As they were in 2017, and will be in 2018.

I could ask the same question of Georgia’s staff. Mullen has one, how about y’all?

Since you're counting his time as an assistant coach, then Kirby has one from his time at Bama.

1st-it's not a matter of "if", but when.
2nd-the media WILL make it a circus, whether through the families, team members, the public, just to name a few ways....that's what they do for a living!
3rd-"They knew when they signed what they were getting into. "...and they both figured they'd win the spot!
long story short: gambling was 1 of the many vices I swore off of moving into my "golden" years, but I'd be particularly pleased to entertain any sized wager offered regarding this matter......besides in reality, this wouldn't actually be gambling...it'd be a whole lot closer to stealing (and I ain't sworn off that. ).

True. The media will try to make it a big deal even if it isn't. It's what they do.

Shocked!! I'm shocked I tell you, that a parent thinks their son should be starting!! We've never seen this before. How can this happen in today's day and age!!

Hmmmmm....you mean it wasn't Dan Mullen?

Seeing as Dan was a Head Coach and wasn’t eligible I guess not. Makes sense though right?

The difference is Mullen actually coached the Hiesman winners position. Is this really that hard for you?

Because you don’t, that makes sense.

I wish hitting the lottery was as easy as making this call. Sorry, but two (Freshman and Sophomore) NFL quality QBs aren't gonna stay on the same team unless they can get a rules change that'll let'em play with 2 footballs...just ain't gonna happen!..and you can't blame 'em!

I'm not sure Fromm is NFL caliber, though better than Jalen Hurts, no doubt.

What happened to McElwain? I forgot about him, but I figured he would catch on as a QB somewhere.

You’ve never seen him play then.

He will absolutely be the starter in 2019. He is just that much physically better than Fromm.

Selling playing time is easy. A team willing to play two top QBs is attractive because it doubles the odds of positive recognition. No one wants to languish on the sidelines.

Think about it. I give you this choice. You can take $500,000 for free and walk away or we flip a coin. Win the flip and you get $1,000,000. Lose the flip and you get nothing. Every sane person would take the $500,000.

I wouldn't try telling that to him or his mamma and daddy!
