ha, like athletes go to a certain school because of the academics

I guess studying the female anatomy could be construed as academics.

What did he say that was so bad?

It's not that bad, I don't think, but I would definitely as an HC have to sort of quiet that down. I think competition at every position is good, but at Quarterback I think it can work both ways. It can cause both players to up their game, but it can also create a ton of doubt for the two of them.

You definitely don't want a guy who feels jilted the moment he gets on campus thinking he's not getting enough love/playing time and a dad whispering in their ear can quickly become trouble.

Nothing to worry about now, it's just a tiny bit of smoke, but definitely worth extinguishing.

Not a Dawg fan, so this is an outsider view.

I think most people believe that every tool Fromm has physically, Fields has a better version of it.

Stronger arm, much better runner. Apparently accurate too, which a lot of super athlete qb's have trouble with.

He was a big noise in HS ball as a qb, biggest since Watson.

No one has seen him take a snap in college yet. Maybe he will have trouble reading defenses. Maybe he doesn't have the much talked aobut leadership skills. No one knows yet.

But watching Georgia last year Fromm's legs were a big part of Georgia's success. Not so much from the running yards he got compared to Chubb and Michel, but avoiding sacks, picking up first downs on busted plays.

And Fields is a big step up from Fromm in that category.

We'll see. But if Fromm gets hurt, or struggles and Fields moves the team, I don't think he can win that job back.

Fromm is a more talented version of Greg McElroy. He's pretty close to AJ in terms of talent and managing the offense. I just don't see how you could ever bench him and play an unknown.

Sounds to me like he was giving input about the Alabama situation more than the Georgia one.

I still don't think you can determine how a player is going to perform until you see him play an actual game. Practice/scrimmages can give you a clue, but it can't be substituted for game experience. Ask Andy Bailey

Considering Dan Mullen was Tim Tebow's Quarterback Coach, one could certainly argue at least him.

I also think Dak Prescott, if he were at another school that he would have very likely won a Heisman. Unfortunately he was at MSST and not Clemson. I'm not sure this is the road you want to venture down.

I could ask the same question of Georgia’s staff. Mullen has one, how about y’all?

Strange choice by Fields parents to send him to a handoff, short quick pass offense to begin with. The QB there is more of a caddy with the big stick being carried by the running backs. And the quick receiver types that can run after the catch. Chaney runs a Bert B. of Arkansas type offense that features dive plays, quick hitters and drags behind 350 pound linemen. With a quick 15 yard out in an attempt to open the offense. And they've got the linemen and running backs to make it happen. Then play defense and squeeze the opponent. This is going to hurt Fields getting a first round, top 5 overall contact after two or three years of killing grass then running a controlled offense. Fields is a blur and a guy who is just as dangerous on a play where the defense has just whipped the offense. He is way too dynamic for that offense. He needs to go now to UF or heaven help us all, AU

Preach when that family turned down Dan Mullen to play for Jim Chaney they cost themselves millions. It is what it is.

He would have been named starter in spring without question. Who knows maybe he wanted to steal a job from someone, good luck with that.

Your program really can't recruit if you have all of that to offer but you can't close the deal.

Hence the reason we are all bitching about recruiting, boy you are smart.

I wish parents would grow up and shut their pie holes. Coaches coach, and parents parent. Let's keep it that way.

Whatever happened to teaching children to persevere and earn it? So someone is ahead of you on the depth chart, or someone is better than you...SUCH IS LIFE.

Agreed. Every parent wants their kid to succeed, though, and they want to protect their kid. I mean...I get it. But, no coach is going to make decisions based upon what a parent says. Or, if they do, they won't be in coaching long.

Again, I agree. but let's not overlook that there are literally millions of dollars at stake.
