Maybe, but the last coach to follow Saban won the championship in his 3rd season.

Don't you remember, "Muh, he's just winning with Saban's players!!1!"?

Let's see Deboer do it.

Good point. This board knows next to nothing about any school’s financial dealings.

Husky Harsin can recruit though. Bama fans have to still be excited about as much as they were bragging about that.

Oh don't get me wrong, he has a ton of leverage too. A contract, plus our desire to stop the bleeding. But the leverage we have is if he won't take a 30-35% reduction in buyout, we can force him to keep working in a miserable environment while his reputation continues to shatter. By the time negotiations ever hit this point, the coach and their family want out of the contract too.

I think this would probably work with someone like Brian Kelly. He has a massive ego and is at retirement age, he also has a lot of money at this point.

DeBoer is only 50 though. He's toiled at the NAIA level for years and is only in his 6th season at the D1 level, he wasn't making a ton at Washington or Fresno State.

DeBoer has to get as much out of that contract as possible, especially if he isn't going into a better job from here.

This was the most cringe line of any press conference he’s ever given. I roasted him after his USCe conference last year for not even understanding a question he was being asked, and was asked 2 different times. He just doesn’t have the analytical ability to know what’s happening. He’s too positive, and doesn’t see the negative things going on.

He has $70 million golden parachute. I wouldn't give two f*cks if I was him.

This is why the buyout will be negotiated down to 45 mil and a lengthy payment plan.

$15 million pay cut? Y'all are dreaming. Go ahead and run that one by his agent.

Did he throw in a Curley Hallman classic “We’ve got to score more points than the other team”?

Everyone assumes the coach has all the leverage and would never accept less than what he is owed, but Alabama actually has a ton of leverage here.

Les was a better coach than he got credit for. I said it then, I maintain it now.

With the new OC, did bama fans notice any big difference in the offense?

Saban knew Alabama couldn't compete in the NIL Era. That's why he bounced. Plus they hired a soft as hell coach is a mans league.
