I recall that Golding chose to punt in the playoffs. And they won that game.

I can't see anything in Kalen Deboer's resume at Bama that justifies a #2 spot.

Hell I could win a game or two with that setup

He’s already made the CFP.

If he’d had a true elite QB and a WR who could take the top off a defense I think he would’ve made a run.

That offense given the current rules is schematically difficult to deal with.

His failure to identify and develop QBs however is itself an indictment of him as a coach.

If a QB is that critical to your system you better know how to find and develop them and thus far he hasn’t.

Heupel picks up some random QB from App State that misses spring practice and still puts up huge numbers. He’s undervalued. I don’t see what Drinkwitz has done to be rated above him. Heupel is kinda the stylistic inverse of Mike Elko.

Kirby

Sark/Deboer

Elko/Kiffin

Heupel/Venables

Drinkwitz/Lea/Golding

The rest, for now.

Remember how insane our HC list was in 2008 as a fricking conference in Football

Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Les Miles, Tommy Tuberville, Mark Richt, Steve Spurrier, Houston Nutt, Bobby Petrino, etc.

Now..well it is not close.

Both Clark Lea and Eli Drinkwitz are projecting to have their team go 6-6 this coming season according to CBS Sports. That is not looking good for these two HCs.

Sarkisian is the only coach with any argument to be # 2 over DeBoer, DeBoer has multiple playoff years in the last 4 seasons (making a national championship game) along with a power conference championship and an appearance in another one. DeBoer also has three 11+ win seasons in the last 4 years.

I am betting that LSU will miss the playoffs this season and Alabama will make it once again this season.

Ok. Name a coach who has a better coaching resume than DeBoer in the SEC. The only one is Kirby. You could possibly make an argument for Sark, but Kalen is 2-0 against him. He's also beaten Kirby twice. Lanes resume isnt anywhere close to Kalens either.

I think Huepel is underrated honestly, with Knowles as DC I think they'll have a really good season and a 9-3 playoff team is not out the realm of possibility

Knowles is a great DC. Josh is awesome on the offensive side of the ball. If they can get some QB play - Tennessee will be a tough out.

Kirby is definitely #1 - #2 through #9 are all about the same and a tier below. They haven't done shite in the SEC. They all compete - and of course I am biased for BV, but he hasn't won the SEC Championship yet - or a Natty. Personal opinion says Drink is toward the very bottom with the coaches that haven't coached a down in the SEC.

I think Drink is a good coach where he is at Mizzou ..will consistently get 6-9 wins. Not a big time coach but not a bad coach either.

That will get you fired at OU, LSU, Bama, TexAss, Florida, Georgia - LOL. I guess some schools accept mediocrity.
