In addition to the Forman-Calipari connection, Smart had begun playing AAU ball with Houston Hoops, a reliable pipeline to Kentucky in recent years (De'Aaron Fox, Jarred Vanderbilt, 2019 commit Tyrese Maxey). Yet two months later, Smart had committed to LSU.

It's real and the middle man in question has worked with Coach Cal in the AAU circuit for years dating back to his days at Memphis.

Shannon Forman played for Calipari at Memphis, before he got ethical.

Let’s all think about this for a moment, Coach Cal lost his mind because he lost a Baton Rouge kid to...LSU.

A kid who’s “mentor” is a former Coach Cal player. A kid who played AAU with a program that funnels kids to Kentucky. I’ve seen where Kentucky fans act like Coach Cal didn’t want Smart. He was the 3X Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year. He is from Baton Rouge. We know how many times Coach Cal himself and/or representatives from Kentucky spent at Scotlandville High School trying to win over Javonte Smart.

Will Wade > Coach Cal

Wade had Cal on tilt? Came out the shoot with a stronger offer.

Smear campaign of LSU basketball

Why do LSU fans think their basketball program is important enough for two guys like Dickie V and Forde to just want to randomly smear? What would be the purpose behind it and the pay off for them?

Local sports guys generally suck, but Jordy is good.

There's a certain afternoon sports show in south Louisiana that Jordy would probably do a better job with than the current host.

Jordy has morning drive time which is more desirable than afternoon drive time that Mascona has.

Moscona is heavy on filler, very little substance. He doesn't need a 3 hour show.

original offer wasn't enough, Cal still had a little money left over to up the bid after paying his other players...but in the end Cal couldn't outbid our impoverished school

I thought he let Dickie run all over him and own his show during that interview.

But yea he's all in on this stuff and I am glad for it.

See, I thought he tossed a rope over a strong tree branch and let Dick fashion his own noose from it.

Dick came off as a major dick in that interview. He just shouted down anything he disagreed with.

He handled that interview perfectly. He made Dickie V look as bad and hypocritical as possible

I covered this in another thread, but I don't remember anyone asking Moo State fans for your opinions. Your school is a nothing in football and men's basketball (you lost to 12th-seeded Liberty), and for all of your supposed greatness in college baseball, you've never won a national championship.

So go run along before you get sent to your room with the lights off because I know you're scare of the dark. The adults are talking here. When you make it to more than one Final Four 20-something years ago, then you can talk. Until then, zip it.

I'll agree he definitely let Dick hang himself. I just wished he'd have cut him off a few more times to make the points he's been making.

Maybe I'm just salty he let that old fricker plug his book.
