No sir. Caddy and the team know his position right now and the reason he is HC. However, he is about to work for and learn from of one of the best offensive minds in college football.

Agreed. These HC contracts are ridiculous. Even our own coach for that matter.

Kiffin couldn't get past the hump at 7M yet somehow he will at 9M?

I think there is a good chance it happens just like he reported.

But I also think he's taking wink wink unofficial word on street stuff and trying to make it into something resembling hard news so he can "break" said news.

Even if everyone around Kiffin thinks that if AU offers - and they think AU will - that Kiffin will accept - that's too speculative to report it in the manner I think Jon tried to do.

He sure as shite had the beat on the Cohen hire. I think he’s 100% got a good source that he trusts. I also think him jumping on the Kiffin story early may have caused some unintended consequences for all parties.

Clout chasing is why nobody trusts these people anymore. Journalism is dead.

He broke the Cohen news first… who’s to say he’s not right about this too?

He’ll either be right and maybe gain some credibility for moving up in his career
not really. It’s kind of an obvious guess. I don’t see how a reporter can report he has reliable sources saying lane is leaving to accept the Auburn job and also has sources that say the job hasn’t been offered to him. Putting both of those out there together with no background or further info is not going to earn much credibility from most.

ETA: I posted before reading the thread. Pretty much this

Ole Miss has a 9 page head coach search thread on the home page.

So we shouldn’t be spit-balling ideas about who we’d like to be coach if Kiffin does decide to leave?

Is that against the law or something?
