No evidence of payment = NCAA says he is not guilty. But make him sit 1/2 game because of some obscure rule that implies you shouldn't sign autographs if you should have known they could be sold for profit.

The NCAA has to look at the big picture and how the situation relates to Clowney, Miller, Lee, Bridgewater, etc.

Rice hasn't won vs. A&M since 3 years before Jackie Sherrill

He is suspended.

Actually, THAT'S the joke. If he did nothing wrong, he shouldn't be suspended at all. If he did, then what was it?

That being said, I'm thrilled. I want him on the field when Alabama rolls in.

I haven't read the thread but I just saw the NCAA acknowledged that Manziel didn't receive any money. If this is true, what exactly is he suspended for?

I guess that he should have known better. In reality, nobody signs that much shiz for free. I bet he gets a tidy little lump sum when he declares for the draft in January.

This x 1000

How the butthurts can try and claim that it's obvious that Manziel took money because of the volume of items and authentication pictures and not say the same about other athletes is both sad and hilarious.

Is this an A&M suspension or NCAA suspension?

I would believe it is a school enforced suspension. The NCAA probable told TAMU they have no proof of money exchanging hands. Similar cases were not even investigated and those involved boosters.

Unless strong evidence comes out, the NCAA will not do anything.

This was most likely a compromise so that the NCAA backs off entirely

I know, but it would tick me off if I was an A&M fan. Heck, infuriates me anyways because how much of a joke that the NCAA actually is. It's a freaking travisty what the NCAA has put Miami through (even though Miami is guilty as heck). Mark Richt has lost all control of that organization.

I honestly don't even know what you're trying to do.....keep it on topic...I'm not here to argue with some random Auburn fans about Bama being on probation during some championships...there is a time and place for that and it isn't here.

Yeah it makes sense if you look at it like this. What doesn't make sense is that they don't go after those other guys on the same basis.

Should be an interesting season. I'm definitely interested to see how A&M and JM hold up to the pressure and scrutiny this year.

Last year they flew relatively under the radar most of the season and catapulted themself with a shocking win at Bama which capped a tremendous year. This year, all eyes are on them from the get-go.

Should be fun to see it play out.

The reeks of racism...and on the 50th anniversary of MLK speech!

I know the penalty would have been more severe if he weren't white, just look at the previous cases and how quick the NCAA was to give out full season suspensions.
