Colin Cowherd once asked Urban Meyer if he knew Joe Burrow and if he had any connections to him. He's a fricking dip shite

I still can’t get over how unbelievably stupid this was for a “sports journalist” who (theoretically) should follow the game.

If that doesn’t tell you Cowherd doesn’t know shite about CFB, nothing will. He’s a professional troll like Finebaum, only without the knowledge and bona fides to back it up.

'System QB' is the dumbest insult I've ever heard. Every team runs a system. Burrow showing that he can adapt to a new system and excel in a one season turn around should excite teams.

All I know is that, if LSU has a system that just generated the greatest college season for any QB ever, watch out.

I don’t get the attempted knock on Burrow that he supposedly only had one good season. His first year at LSU was not on the same level as the 2nd but it wasn’t bad at all. 2900 Passing yards 16-5 td-int Lratio playing in an archaic system with only a couple months to prepare after transferring in May 2018. Add in about 400 yards rushing with 7 tds and a bunch of teams would take that season.

Compares him to Tony Romo. Has hit ceiling in college and recent social media raises questions about his attitude. Can hit tight windows with the best of them but the arm is mediocre compared to the big names in the league. Huge one year after riding the bench and having a less than desirable first year at LSU raises concerns if he’s a system QB or not.
not surprised.
someone is feeding him this BS.
he isn't smart enough to think this stuff up on his own.

Burrow would be perfect in a west coast offense, or a variation of it.

Hung 46 on that sorry-arse defense Bama put on the field on Nov. 9, 2019. I'm sorry you were on the wrong bandwagon this year.

Cowherd is old and now rich, has become a bit Aristocratic(no longer an LV sportscaster on local news), his focus is on his weekly Blazin 5, has always been more a Pro sports follower, a psycho-analytical macro view commentator to the Leagues.

He doesn't watch the college teams with c@nt hair minutiae focus..and 99% of his audience will not know any better.

He is much like older betting syndicate wiseguys and BMs( or Fund Mgrs,etc..), that no longer know who stands on first base in Yankee Stadium(let alone KC), as many are now macro market movers that have long ago farmed out their handicapping to young bucks immersed in the homework and legwork of the craft.

I still like Cowherd, but he isn't what he was 15 to 20 years ago..not as hungry and focused. He now plays more to the cliches. He lets his insiders whisper in his ear, doesn't do as much of his own homework as he used to.

Exactly. Here is Pro Football Focus updated assessment:
“It shouldn’t be a surprise that Joe Burrow is the highest draft prospect on this list, but it might surprise you to see he’s number one including the entire free agent pool that is loaded with starting quarterbacks. What Burrow did at LSU in 2019 was unlike anything we have ever seen since PFF College’s inception in 2014. He broke the record for the highest overall grade from a quarterback in a single season by owning a 94.9 mark (Baker Mayfield in 2017 and Kyler Murray in 2018 at 94.6 was the previous record). That grade was also significantly higher than what we have ever seen from an SEC quarterback “

They added this:
“ People act like Joe Burrow was awfully bad in 2018, but in reality, he was still an above-average quarterback in the toughest conference in college football. He was 31st in PFF grade among FBS signal-callers ...”
