Thanks to the football team's work in the classroom, Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher is about to get a little extra spending money. Fisher is set to receive a one-time bonus of $150,000 following the NCAA's release of the annual Academic Progress Rate figures on Wednesday. According to the terms of Fisher's contract with the Aggies, Fisher receives the six-figure bonus if the team's APR is 965 or higher. In the NCAA's latest report, A&M had an APR of 967 for the 2017-18 academic year and rolling four-year period. The figure ranked in the 50th to 60th percentile for all NCAA football programs and is higher than the APR of 965 for the previous school year.

He can almost get two calves with that extra change.

Does he use that to pay Florida State for that awful APR he left behind?

Not his fault. He can't help it that Florida high schools produce kids that can't read good.

Considering the number of players who quit, transferred, were arrested or kicked off the team under Kevin Sumlin from 2013-2017, Fisher must have done a hell of a job to RAISE the APR.

Must be nice. He was at aTm for what, all of five months of the 2017-2018 academic year? Roughly 42% of the 2017-18 year and 10.5% of the rolling 4 year period. Most of that bonus should be going to the Swagcopter.

Can't believe so many fans seem to worry about APR. I care that guys who are good enough to contribute are eligible. Other than that, I can't make myself care.

The timing of this announcement simply couldn't be better given all the handwringing about APR on this board where FSU is concerned

Simply perfect!

APR is on a 1,000 point scale.

In no universe is a 967 out of 1000 a C.

Excellent contract negotiations on Jimbo's part, good for the man. We'll see in a couple of years if he fleeced aTm or not.
