Well, that and the fact bama was physically dominated and only scored 1 TD the entire game.

But, do you Auburn guys still think he's the best QB in the SEC?
He may be, but probably isn't. He is being misused in the Auburn offense. Typical Gus. Unable to see the type of offense the talent he has recruited is best suited for. Going on 4 straight seasons now.

In fairness to Stidham, he has no help. Our O-line is atrocious. Worst in the SEC and our RB's have marginal talent and no vision. And when your head coach is on the sidelines going apoplectic, putting his hands on his head and gawking at officials like a 16 year old girl who just had her iPhone stolen, it doesn't help.

That, but more to do with Jalen Hurts at quarterback. I still don't understand that. The offensive coordinator wanted to play Tua and he was right. I think anybody can see that now.

Meh, you'd have another segment of the fanbase groaning if Malzahn never fought the refs. It's a lose lose when the narrative is set from the jump.

You are being nice. It was worse than that. Jarrett did not play well other than carrying the ball when he needed. He has been overthrowing guys all season and that continues. Our offensive line is so bad, he has very few deep chances and the ones he did have he blew.

Do you think its the dreaded happy feet syndrome that is causing the overthrows? With a bad offensive line I've seen more then one QB just heave the ball downfield on deep passes and pray for the best result.

I heard a lot of talk from the Auburn guys I know in real life say Stidham had happy feet and was kinda of a chokey duche bag.

I brought that to the rant and Auburn fans here didn’t want to hear it.

Looks to be true though.

No, the shitty OL is causing the happy feet which is leading to bad decisions and poor mechanics. Our offensive line is so bad that it's really hard to tell just how much is on Stidham.

The offensive line is not helping and it could be hurting his deep throws but he has made some beautiful deep throws over the past two years as well. Honestly his pocket presence has not really been great even when he has had decent protection. I think it is the biggest thing he will have to work on before he can play in the NFL. He has the arm and overall accuracy. He doesnt even seem to be scared to take a hit. At times he takes guys on. I personally dont think his issues in the pocket is because he is a pussy or anything, I just think he is trying to hard to make plays at times. He just is not athletic enough to make them with his feet most of the time.

Auburn's offensive line is incredibly weak this year along with the RB's.

That still will never change the fact that Stidham absolutely torched Alabama in 2017.

I was never convinced he was anymore than really good.

His strengths are accuracy and arm strength.

His weaknesses are failure to anticipate throws, poor pocket awareness and turn overs. The last being his biggest issue. Last year we struggled to beat Mercer.

That being said the OL which played slightly below average this season, played way below average last night. The issues last night could more easily be placed on the OL. The problems against LSU and UW are on him.

He is a top 5 QB in our league, but he isn't playing like it right now.

Stidham is only second to Tua as far as arm talent goes, IMO. That said, he still watches even a decent rush instead of working through progressions and gets rattled if he gets hit. NFL will see that on tape and won't touch him.

To be fair, Auburn's OL is mediocre on it's best day (see Washington) and the RBs on the roster have no elusiveness (see kam Martin screen last night that should have gone for 70 yards and ended up a 4 yard gain). He also isn't getting much help from a playcalling standpoint as we aren't moving the pocket for him, no backfield motion, and no empty seats to spread D out.

Pretty much nailed it

I am concerned about the QB play, RB play and OLINE but its still early in the season. Like last year. When we left Clemson last year, our fans wold have bet that we would not have won another game. Our schedule is set up about as good as we could hope for with who we have left to play. The next 4 games should all be games we can win and learn how to get better before we get to the meat of our SEC games.

I just think we played bad all over the field last night. Perfect storm or something...

Because Auburn's oline is mediocre.

My biggest issue is last year KJ got healthy and things went from there until he got hurt again. Against uga and bama last year KJ turned nothing into something on 14 occasions. The OL actually got beat and KJ's vision, jump move and personal will turned it into a positive gain. On 6 occasions those plays resulted in 1st downs. Boobee shows promise but he has a ways to go. I personally like what I see out of Shivers better than Kam. I hate being critical of a player like Stidham, but we really need him to be elite and to date he hasn't shown that ability. Even with his struggles he is still really talented. Reminds me of Jason Campbell inconsistency.

I like what Shivers has done but lets be serious, he is not going to be that effective against our biggest tests. Same with Kam Martin. Boobie has some promise but like you said, he is young and inexperienced.

Jarrett is going to have to pick his game up. Our receivers have player pretty good most of the year. If the Oline can get things together over the next 4 weeks, we can have a chance against TAM and UGA late in the season. I am concerned but not panicking. We have seen this song and dance before.

I am still puzzled at our Running Back recruitment. I have been saying that for two years now. We are just not getting the backs we need. Its strange since we have had such good success with backs in the past with Gus.

Jarrett is who he is. If Gus refuses to run an Ole Miss, West Virginia, Baylor esque type spread with multiple receivers spread out and quick passing, Auburn offense will continue to struggle.

That is what the personnel is built for and takes some pressure off of the o line.
