As I said in the other thread, I suspect Saban'll have packages for BOTH QBs and alternate them alot the first half of the year, then let the chips fall where they may.

lol, he can't throw

If not for the talent on Bama, he'd lost the gig last year.

Sure.

a). he excels when scrambling
b). excels when he has a QB that can run

Listening to talk radio on this...I just shake my head at people calling in and repeating the most obvious opinions as if they are novel.

“Jalen just isnt a NFL QB” -no shite Sherlock
“Tua is a better passer” -get Saban on the phone!!!
“Tua just gives us... a better chance to win” - based off one half of a game...and man didnt know players called in to talk radio
“If I was coach Saban” -thank the Lord you arent

Those opinions aren’t novel but they also apparently weren’t the conventional thinking of Bama’s coaching staff last season. Saban clearly thought Hurts was the better quarterback.

His dad says he'll become "the biggest free agent in college football history.”

What he means: "My son will go to the highest bidder."

He'd fit right in at LSU.

huh? LSU doesn't have mobile QBs who can't throw. We've had QBs who can't do either.

he's a terrible passer, no doubt. But plenty of terrible passers have played QB and simply used their athletic ability to make plays.

I'm thinking he'd do well in a triple option scheme.

Shoot - I'd take him at Arkansas. Proven winner, strong leader and would do well in a Morris offense. Granted, not a great passer, but I don't think we have anyone on campus with a better overall skill set

Never happen, though.

Good luck at being the first QB to transfer away from Alabama and actually win a starting job. I guess he has a better chance of doing that than everyone else so far.

Wonder how close he is to graduating. I know he came in early and probably attended Summer Semester, so that would mean he will have 7 semesters under his belt by May.

Not many "big teams" will want him at QB. I'm sure the mid-majors will beat down doors for him.

While I agree that not many "big teams" will want him, I can think of a couple that might go after him if he transferred...maybe Ohio State and Florida...Meyer's had success in his system with run-first QBs...and Hurts seems to fit the style of QBs that Mullen had success with at MSU...

Of other decent Power 5 schools that might have an interest, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Utah, and BYU come to mind; they all run systems in which Hurts could conceivably thrive. Oregon could be a possibility as well since Mario Cristobal is their coach now...

How many of you would prefer Jalen to transfer or Tua to transfer

I hope they both stay and which ever one does not win the starting job becomes a cancer in the locker room and destroys Bama from within.

Can he even hypothetically transfer to an SEC school if he wanted? Wouldn’t they block that

Who is the biggest FA in CFB history? Actually a good question. I'm sure there are some great ones, but Cam Newton comes to mind for me.

He’d be awful. His primary weakness isn’t the physical act of throwing. It’s processing what he sees quickly enough and turning it into physical action. He’s actually poor in the read option. Constantly kept it when he should have handed it off and vice versa. He’s just not a quick twitch thinker.
