I still hate this crap. I'm SO glad we're just over a month out from football.

Meh Gator football has lost its luster for me. I am glad we’re only a few months out from BASKETBALL.

I tried watching a couple of the US games but only made about 15 minutes before I'd change to a western movie or something. This final I made the last hour. This was the best that I saw but still boring.

Texas first day of practice in 11 days.

The wild shootout between France and England in the "hell with it, we're playing for third place so let it fly" was greatly entertaining. This was... not so hotso.

A sport that’s main tactic is flopping is pathetic.

So many American fans fail to appreciate that scoring one goal can be the ultimate great achievement of a player.
Yes we are spoiled by our football that generally sees it each team score multiple times in a game. It is different. I am not a huge soccer fan but when our daughters played many years ago, I made a point of studying the game and the rules so that I could enjoy watching it.
Hosting the World Cup this summer was great for the USA as a part of our 250 celebration. Our men’s team has improved but until we can win the World Cup we will not completely engage our average fans who do not follow the game.

Football in the old days began to grow in popularity because it was as close to being in a war that a person could be.

Especially in the early 1900s when the forward pass had to installed as president Roosevelt told the colleges to make the game safer due to fatalities.

I'm sure soccer is a team sport but American football is much more and it requires all 11 players to put maximum effort or it will collapse.

It's brutal and taxing on your body but the reward is satisfying like being on drugs but minus the negatives that come with it. It teaches the ultimate life lessons because it challenges your body, mind and soul.

This is what soccer fans around the world don't understand about American football.

I think many people including myself can appreciate a 1-0 game but when the other team achieves that goal for flopping to get a penalty shot, that’s gay shite.

Eta my description above is a scenario. I watched the game.

They have got to do something about the flopping. The US is generations behind the rest of the world in developing soccer players at a young age. Not sure how we ever catch up. FIFA either allows the refs to give preferential calls to tells the refs who they need to win. I can see how it's so hard to watch if you have never been around it. We did travel soccer for a number of years a bunch of years ago so I learned more about soccer than I thought I ever would. I enjoy the shear skill of so many of the players but they really need to fix some things.

Soccer is so famous around the world because all you need is a ball.

Also everyone here thinks it’s boring because you get 1 point for a score. They should change it to 6 per. Up until recently 4 touchdowns was a lot in football. What if they were all worth only 1 point each like soccer?

Also every other countries top athletes usually play soccer. All of our top athletes play a sport not named soccer. Until our top athletes start playing soccer we likely will never win a World Cup.

Edit to say I don’t love soccer or hate it. I used to but after watching it and learning more about it, it’s starting to grow on me. Also the flopping is ridiculous.
