I don't think A&M goes that route. We wouldn't touch Cam Coleman because his cost would upset our NIL apple cart. We spent appropriate $ getting Isaiah Horton instead.
I don't see Elko going the NFL route and wouldn't be surprised if the SEC rules on that eventually. Kinda like the Big 12 with Sorsby.

Have you been under a rock? La court issued a TRO that a handful of players that were waived by the NFL teams in preseason can play this year.

This ruling seems like it will encourage players to leave college for the pro's as soon as they can knowing they have a fallback.

The Louisiana TRO is a one time thing for 22 players. The 5 for 5 rule should have had a blanket waiver for all 2022 athletes just like the Covid year for every player.

This is just a one off court case and surely won't be used as precedent moving forward....

I think its more complex than that. Historically, there have been donor factions that didn't agree on coaches, donating, etc.
Our Board and AD have worked to unify those factions. Much like TAF operates today.
So, you see unity now from donors, through the AD and to each sport... including football.
We have also had some really poor ADs over the years.

Your example is a player deliberately forgoing a year of NCAA eligibility for the NFL. Big difference
Are you replying to the wrong person? I didn’t give any examples, and understand how this situation is different from allowing all NFL players to return to college football, or any other iteration. My point is that eventually some lawyer in some state, acting on behalf of some player, will win an injunction to allow something we all think is impossible right now. I’m for the current injunction and understand why it was decided.
