Now Texas and A&M will just out bid everyone for NFL players that are on the cut line prior to each season

Congrats on thinking of it first. But if you think other teams won’t out bid you you’re crazy.

Why didn't you outbid anyone this season? Complacency? Perhaps you're broke.

Not really. This flirting with the NFL only to return is still going to need to be addressed. Players will still try going the NFL route at 3 or 4 years (maybe 2 if you're an Earl Campbell) and still have eligibility if cut by NFL and desire to return to team or portal. Probably allowed to return to the portal only as a college team has to fill their roster and apply budgeted money for the year prior to NFL cuts and fall practice beginning.

And you’ll continue to go 8-4…. Because winning just isn’t in your culture, never has been. And that’s ok. Every conference needs middle of the pack teams.

100%. The line will continue to move until antitrust protection is in place. I don’t blame the lawyers any more than I would question the morals of a blood-sucking leach if it latched onto my leg.

The difference is these players were forced to leave by the NCAA due to expired eligibility then eligibility rules changed

Your example is a player deliberately forgoing a year of NCAA eligibility for the NFL. Big difference

College football is now run as a business and has to work within “legal at the time”business perimeters and take advantage of each opportunity. You’re either forward thinking or left behind…#geauxLSUTigers

I believe the SEC should govern and control its own league …. setting its own rules and guidelines for all member institutions. And by doing so, it exerts its leadership position to guide college football back to greatness.

The ncaa is on the verge of killing the golden goose.

Aggots are going to try and outspend others? Water is wet.

You still won’t win any hardware.

Thanks for your attention to LSU.

You’ve been able to outbid LSU since 1939, yet here we are.

That was Vandy with Diego Pavia and Ole Miss with Chambliss. LSU just did the same thing they were doing.

The only reason these guys are being allowed back into college is because they were the only ones excluded in the 5 for 5 ruling. This is a one year thing. Any other player will not have a leg to stand on in court.

I don't agree. I think some players are going to "test their worth" in the NFL market and push it at the end of their 3rd or 4th year. What's to keep them from doing that as long as they don't sign a contract? I also think lawyers and agents are going to do whatever they can to aid these players.

Maybe you can show where the NCAA 5 for 5 ruling addresses testing the NFL market, I couldn't find it.
https://www.ncaa.org/eligibility-center/division-i-and-division-ii-age-based-eligibility-rules/

BTW, just use for example a true freshman that just started his first season this year. Not even talking about the older guys that signed four years ago.
