This was said in 2022. Still waiting for that to happen.

Maybe if you say it enough you will actually start to believe it and it will come true.

It was "officially" over the second saban left. It was essentially over already by that point though. Saban's last 3 years saw them lose 2 games each season. They went 3 straight years without a natty (which I will again point out, like I always do, that that fact by itself is still staggering and shows how insane the dynasty run was). Both of those facts above hadn't been done since 2006 - 2008.

I think it was officially over the second NIL came about. Ain’t nobody winning a natty every other year for 10 years in this “market.”

Which is fine.

very true. the days of a team dominating for a long stretch like that just ins't really feasible anymore.

Their dynasty was over years ago, it was just running on fumes

They haven’t won a championship since 2017.

I mean, that was only 2 years removed from an undefeated title season whihc was one fo the best ever. I don't think any non-trolls ACTUALLY would have thougth that in 2022.

At this point though the evidence has mounted higher and higher. It's a lot easier to point out reasons why the dynasty is no more than it is to claim it's still ongoing.

Did an LSU defense ever give up 42 points to a Shula coached team in back to back seasons? Because this seems to be the new norm

Saban's worst loss of his college career was 31-0 to Bama in 02 at TS, Franchione squad

Going to make the Shula era look great.

I don't think it'll be that bad, they're just going to be a normal, upper echelon SEC team.

Bama doesn't have any kind of "secret sauce" in modern CFB so expect them to be a lot more up and down going forward, just like everyone else.

losing a ton of players to the transfer portal

Name a year this hasn’t happened since transfer portal began. Georgia, Alabama and all of the other top teams will lose 15-20 kids to the portal. Some want money, some want playing time, some are homesick, some have been passed up by younger players.

Is it though? This is sixth or 7th time. It’s “ended”the first time it ended was after the osu playoff loss in 2014(dynasty is over fsu and Ohio st on the rise) 2015 bama wins a title. 2016 it ended when Clemson won the natty(3/4 titles won ooc saban dominating cfb is over) 2017 bama wins title. 2018 clemson beats bama by multiple scores in a title game(that’s never happened before dynasty over). 2020 another bama title. It also officially ended after vandy and ou gsmes this year.

I think this is most likely. Bama isn't doing anything that LSU, UGA, UF, UT etc can't do. We just caught lightning in a bottle with Saban and are now returning to reality.

Exactly, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Saban "protected" Bama from a lot of the realities of modern college football to some extent.

I remember Bama posters on this very board talking about bowl opt outs and how that would never stand at Alabama but that's just going to happen now. I remember a lot of Bama posters here crowing about "rats jumping ship" during the most recent Auburn and LSU coaching changes yet the same thing happened (to a lesser extent) when Saban left.

Bama just signed the 2nd best class. They aren't going anywhere.

They are including 5 star OT Ty Haywood in those rankings. alabama drops out of the top 3 of the rankings when he signs elsewhere. He is likely going to Michigan.

I don’t know, but for some reason your response made me think of one of the most miserable experiences I ever had at an LSU football game, the 2002 LSU-Alabama game.

I realize that was Franchione and not Shula.

I don’t think anybody expects us to win a NC every 2-3 years anymore. If that is the basis of what constitutes a dynasty for you, then yes that’s over.

Averaging 10 wins per year and mixing in a championship or two over a decade is not dead. Yet.

so a natty 1 year after an early exit

so a natty 1 year after not winning one

We're now at 4 years removed and bama has lost at least 2 games in all of the last 4 years. To find another 4 year period where bama has 9 losses as they do now, you'd have to go back to 2007-2010.

So are you trying to tlel us that the dynasty is still current and ongoing? How many years do you have go to without a title before it's actually over IYO?

3 from 2003-2019, making them the 2nd most successful team in that span. Thanks for the reminder!
