All he had to do was go to the admin like a normal person at some point during the season and say he had an offer from USC that he was interested in, and we would've sent him on his way no harm, no foul. Riiiight???

-Instead, he kept the members of the coaching staff that wouldn't be going to USC with him (not in his clique) in the dark all season long about how he and his clique of coaches were all leaving after the season. When he suddenly left without warning, the remaining coaches were caught off guard and didn't know if they had jobs or not. Their agents didn't even have a chance to search for a place for them to land. They have families.

-He didn't tell the admin he was looking around (at all) so when he suddenly accounced he was leaving Sunday after the OSU game, they too were caught completely off-guard and had to organize an emergency coaching search. They weren't given the courtesy of making a counter-offer or to negotiate at all, nor prior notification so they could initiate a search for his replacement.

-He was just going to slink off without telling the team at all (they didn't know he was leaving either), and Bob had to yell at him to "get in their and talk to the team Lincoln!" just to get him to give them a 2 minute talk and then he just walked out of the room like a bitch.

-He and his clique of coaches snuck out of Norman (deserted their jobs) under cover of darkness, and had people drive them to the airport to board the USC plane at 4am to avoid confrontation from anybody or media.

-The day he arrives at USC he's clearly on the phone working all of our '22 and '23 commits to get them to decommit and follow him. Recruits are fair game, that's true, but this just made it worse.

-He went on ESPN and lied that the USC deal all came together that Sunday morning after the OSU game, said he'd never spoken to another school while at OU (his agent did all that for him, like we're that stupid). He spewed some nonsense story to Scott Van Pelt that he went downstairs Sunday morning like a kid running downstairs to open presents on Christmas morning, and USC was just waiting on a Zoom call with a massive offer he just couldn't refuse. Van Pelt didn't buy his story either. And somehow, within a timespan of 2 hours, he was able to convince his wife to uproot and move to L.A., as were all the coaches and their families who were going with him, which is a laughable narrative.


But we're just being petty??
