The one who lost to Auburn last week and got a bit lucky against Alabama?

They have a .500 record against each other.

They lost to Texas this year @ home because they choked the game away. The only reason he even has a job is because of the 12 team playoff allowing him to get into the playoffs after losing to Michigan in his final regular season game.

We'll see. At any rate, he's not leaving Indiana.

Based on what? DeBoer made it to the NCG with Washington.

And you what none of these coaches have done? Had success on a schedules as hard as Alabama has played the past 2 years.

I don't think DeBoer is terrible, he's just very BK like. Luckily, LSU didn't give him an extension after year 2.

Because you don't understand the difference in losing regular season games and losing in the playoffs/post season is the only way you can remotely come to that conclusion.

Especially since DeBoer doesn't have a 20 year career of underperforming which was the entire reason people said BK was a bad hire while you sucked him off daily. We weren't comparing BK to anyone other than his own past.

I’ve never compared him to Saban in any serious way.

Saban came to LSU graying and a bald spot.
Saban retired from Alabama with full brown Locks. He spent a lot of money on his look.

Deboer came to Alabama with a huge bald spot and was given a hat to cover it.

There’s your comparison.

LSU was way behind the curve when lane stepped on campus than Alabama was when Deboer did. Ole Miss the same.

If you want to say the programs were at equal footing then I think that’s where we just agree to disagree.

H2H matters that much to you? In that case let me add Venables and Heupel to the list of coaches better than DeBoer

Kirby rebuilt Georgia has two titles, I can’t believe you are actually trying to argue DeBoer who hasn’t built and sustained anything is a better coach. Day and Curt have titles. Literally enough said, until DeBoer breaks through (which looks less likely every year)

Also he had an NFL QB at Washington, why are you acting like that is some great accomplishment compare and saying “we’ll see” about Cignetti who won a national title in year two at Indi-fricking-Ana

Kiffin abandoned his team to sign players for LSU and spend that 40 million or whatever.

DeBoer was hired after the playoffs ended, and a large part of the previous team transferred out or went to the draft etc.

DeBoer inherited what LSU fans made excuses for BK for, even though BK(and Kiffin) were both hired a month and a half earlier.

And we run completely different schemes, so even if we had kept all those Alabama players, we'd have still been trying to transition into another type of team these past few years.

All the while playing some of the most difficult schedules in the country.

In full context I can not at all be unhappy with the guy.

You did earlier. You just didn't name them as better coaches.

Cool, let me go hire Gene Chizik or Jimbo Fisher for an improvement.

Georgia hasn't won a playoff game since the 2022 season.

Cignetti we'll see. He won last year with covid seniors and a base of a team that had been together for years. I love his style and what not, but he's also old and not leaving Indiana.

Day is just laughable. Propped up by Ohio St's resources.

Penix was a 3 star recruit who was originally committed to Tennessee and Pruitt and ended up at Indiana(before Cignetti) then transferred to Washington.

He's gonna have NFL QBs at Alabama also.

What will the cope be if Alabama loses to LSU?

Not sure a cope would be necessary with a competitive loss at LSU this year.

Considering LSU has won only 9 home games against Alabama since WWII the cope will probably be that LSU is due for a home win in the series and executed better than their opponent on Nov 7th

“It seems like Bama fans are finally starting to accept that Kiffin is better than Deboer”

I haven’t heard that and I certainly don’t think so. I don’t and don’t know anybody that wants Lane Kiffin anywhere around Bama. Saban squashed Lane even getting a phone call from Bama and I agree with Nick 100 percent. The Bama job was Lane’s dream but he doesn’t fit with the Bama program.

Typo, I meant to say when Saban left LSU.

I fixed it, thanks for pointing it out.

Except he didn't. Those are recruiting rank numbers and speak nothing to the amount of development and if they fit the schem

That speaks to the coach.

Development that was lacking because Saban had trouble getting quality assistants his final few years. They would get hired away almost immediately if they were decent

Saban was gone, but yeah use the GOAT as an excuse for the current coach.

And half the roster left when Saban retired. DeBoer was hired after the playoffs and didn't even get a real recruiting class his first year.

Less than what left LSU. The recruiting class argument is lame. All new coaches have the same excuse.

Our best players were often not Saban recruits, they were ones DeBoer brought in and salvaged from the transfer portal.

Same for Kiffin

This is the first year we've seen anything that resembles the offense he wants with all the pulls and such. And really we are ahead of schedule due to the youth of the team.

CLK has implemented his offense already. Ealry mishaps happened. Team seems to now be gelling.

What took your guy so long that you would feel the need to use this as some excuse?

Our biggest issue right now is a lack of depth. If we don't get healthy, we are fricked.

Is that any different from the other 137 teams?

It's a difference of 4 ranking spots, which isn't that bad when you consider what both inherited.

I realize you're trying to frame it as this vast difference but it's just 4 ranking spots.

And LSU spent way more money on NIL to achieve this and nothing our coach has done is going to get us kicked out of the SEC or cause drama.

Bama spent an estimated $42million in NIL this year. LSU spent similar. Both have 2 losses. Only one had more than half the team, with a QB who had no spring, trying to gel.

This may actually be one of the most delusional copes ever uttered on this site.

And that's really saying something.
