Kiffin burned too many bridges in Tuscaloosa, no way he will be wanted or offered

Considering that Debo came into a well-oiled juggernaut and hasn't been able to do shite with it, I agree that Kiffin is a better coach.

Funny, I remember all the threads here about how bad we gutted in the portal after Saban, argue whatever fits your narrative, I guess

You can’t find a single post from a Bama fan criticizing the ridiculous extension he got after last season. There is were even some on here arguing he deserved it

He did deserve it and I am still very happy with him as our coach.

I was either hearing “Deboer is better” or “Lane is coming to bama after we fire Deboer.”

I’m starting to hear the latter much more.
Where are you hearing this?

Because he's one of the best coaches in college football and it's just a standard raise.

You guys can troll and what not all you want, but I've been watching this sport over 50 years.

Not based on his Bama tenure, not even close in fact. But if you’re cool with giving a guy a massive raise coming off a 35 point loss based on his two years having Penix at Washington, that’s all that matters

I guess if you are dumb enough to pretend the conditions and game was still the same. The reality is half the team left when Saban did.

So Deboer inherited Saban’s team and couldn’t convince 1/2 of them not to transfer out and you use this to prop up your belief that he wasn’t given the keys to a well oiled machine?

Kiffin built Ole Miss then took LSU who could only score 30 points against an FCS team in the regular season to what it is now.

Deboer is responsible for holding the team together.

IDGAS what Bama pays their coaches.

College sports are so whack that skill players pull more than their damn position coaches and coordinators make more than some head coaches.

Meh, two things can be true at once.

He's a good coach, and his agent suckered Alabama into giving him a raise/extension in a year where he was blown out in 2 of his final 3 games.

And even the win at Oklahoma took a furious comeback to pull out.

He’s been an FBS coach for 6 years and he has one conference title. He’s lost fewer than two regular season games one time. Calling him one of the best coaches in the country is really weird.
He’s certainly not a top 5 coach despite being paid as such

And it was a rematch/mulligan, so according to Bama fan logic that one didn’t really count anyway. So he’s 0-2 vs Venables and 1-2 vs Huepel, yikes

Or the fact we even made it that far is a testament to a good coaching job that made use of what he had as we transition from Saban type players into the type of players he wants. If you notice, we don't run as much zone blocking schemes, we are more of a mobile team that pulls lineman.

That has taken time to get to. We have it this year for the first time, but we are still lacking a bit of depth because we are a really young team, and we have RS Freshman QB still in need of experience.

We lost to the national champions in his 2nd year while being a program in transition with a ton of injuries. A team that had an average starter age that was 3 years higher than Alabama.

How far did your coach and team get in the playoffs?
