What he was caught doing on tape was 1000x worse than what Kareem Hunt did and arguably worse than what Ray Rice did, yet he will be a first round pick in 4 months.

It’s craxy how we’re all prisoners of the moment. If that tape surfaced tomorrow instead of two years ago Simmons never plays a down in the NFL. Now it’s essentislly a non-issue that will be entirely ignored.

First of all, ordering an egg McMuffin with sausage instead of ham, should result in the death penalty.

His old teamate Tyreek Hill pleaded guilty to choking his pregnant girlfriend while in college. Still got drafted. We all know the Joe Mixon story.

Right or wrong you get held to a different standard once you leave college and are getting paid.

I agree. I’d call Thomas Mars if I were you.

While I don't defend his actions, and was skeptical of us adding him...If memory serves it ended up being a misdemeanor.

He paid his dues with the criminal justice system and has been a model citizen since then.

He had no leash at all at State, but didn't get in any trouble at all while enrolled. It was a second chance for a kid, and he made the best of it.

He did help curbstomp aggies though with a 3-0 record against you so I understand why ya'll may try to cast stones after tolerating the stuff cokehead manziel and Kevin Rumlin got into.

Maybe one day ya'll will have a winning record against us in football. Till then and happy holidays!

The mental gymnastics State fans have gone through the last 3 years to explain away his beating of a woman has been wild to see. It’s amazing sometimes what folks will justify for wins.

It seems like no one has forgotten it. Not even Jeffery, who's goodbye video is all about thanking everyone who gave him a second chance.

What everyone seems to forget is that he pled guilty to his charges(which was a misdemeanor), served his punishment, paid restitution to the victim, and has been a model citizen and student during the ensuing 2.5 years.

Feel free to keep bringing it up if you need to. But it's possible he learned his lesson and has improved himself.

Does it make you mad that he will make 50/60 million within a matter of 36 months? Explain to me how bad it makes you feel?

The word was he did it as a reaction to finding out the girl was trying to sexually assualt his sister.

I believe in second chances regardless. You go through the court system, they serve your punishment and then you don’t breka the law again. You’re good.

What would have had us do? As Saban put it the other day. Put him on the street? Or give him a second chance to atone?

It all depends on when you get caught committing your thuggery. Honestly, Kareem Hunt's video wan't even that bad. He sort of kicked at her late in the video, but it pales in comparison to what Rice, Mixon, and Simmons did. Rice and Hunt got caught in the NFL. Mixon and Simmons get a pass, since their videos were from college.

As I've gotten older, I lean towards rehabilitation with zero tolerance. I believe a guy can do something as vile as punch his girlfriend, and there's still a chance he can be reformed. Time, counseling, and some strict, no tolerance rules can bring some of these guys back into society.
