Yes it sucks we lost BUT.

Some take aways:

-Our defense has absolutely made improvements.
-I like Loefler's Offense better. Once Frazier pat dries his vajayjay and decides to play some ball, he's gonna be VERY good.
-Clemson is gon' b gud
-The new helmet and kickoff rules are absolutely fricking absurd. The game itself is turning into a joke both in the college and NFL levels
-An 8 win season this year will look better than last year's. If you can't see what I mean, then you are a hate filled rival or don't understand football.
- We will compete for the West against LSU next year. Bookmark this and bring it back in '13

Other conference notes:
-If we played Florida again this year, we would beat them... Yet again
-I don't think weget throttled by State next week. I think it'll be close as always. Perhaps this is the one time a decade (on average) that they beat us.
-Nick Saban may be the greatest CFB coach of our generation. No hate at all. That team is consistantly on another planet compared to pretty much all 125 other teams. I hate them because they are bama.. But I respect the shite out of what he has built there in less than a decade.

Yes, Cam is the only player that we lost after 2010.

and you think clemson is much better then other teams on your schedule like Arky, UGa, LSU and Bama?

Not LSU or Bama but definitely better than UGA and probably better than Arkansas

I am also glad that we played a 'real' team off the bat and not Cupcake Community College Clown and Eggplant Emporium™ like so many are apt to do and did. I'd rather we see what we have off the get go than throttle a nobody only to get 'exposed' next week in that Land Mass Between Mobile and New Orleans™

Auburn's swing games are State, TAMU, and Vandy.

UGA, Bama, LSU and Arky are all for the most part auto losses. Bama, Arky, and UGA are all too good on offense for AU to keep up and LSU's front will dominate the AU offensive line. AU us looking like a 6-6 team this year. If they lose 2 of those swing games they will be home for Christmas with no bowl game.

Schedule is way too hard for a green offense and talent depleted defense.

Really not being a flamer here, but if I try to be objective, Auburn did make alot of errors that can be corrected, however . . . Clemson made twice as many.

The score could have been much more lopsided.

Everybody's got an opinion on the game, so here's mine...

1) The offensive line? Wow! I couldn't be more impressed with a group that included 2 sophomores and 2 freshmen. Yeah, they had their bad moments, but for the most part, they were driving Clemson off the ball and giving Frazier ample time to throw. Only time they gave up sacks is when Frazier decided to take naps in the pocket. Oh, and Greg Robinson is a freakin' man. If he stays healthy, he will be a first-rd. pick. Unbelievable talent. I'm giddy about this group as a whole, and it will only get better when Dismukes returns.

2) The defense? That's a different kind of wow. Terrible tackling, soft coverage, etc. I expected our D to look better. It's time for Jeff Whitaker and Ken Carter to start performing. Those guys came in with a lot of hype, and they've been non-existent for 3 yrs. The only DT making kind of plays was Blackson. Very disappointing. And if Ryan Smith and Ryan White are the best options in the secondary, that's not good. Therezie needs to be starting at the corner opposite Davis.

3) Loeffler will learn. Remember, this is only his second season to call plays. I liked most of the playcalling, but there were a lot of times we were we got in a rut. We would get under center and run 3 times and then we would get in the shotgun and pass 3 straight times. Gotta mix it up more often, but he'll figure it out as he goes. Was pleased with the offense outside of stalling in the red zone.

You aren't wrong, I just try and give him time. I guess I'm just patient. Plus I expect huge things from BVG in a few years. We can still fix some things this season, we are gonna compete.

I like Auburn, but I think you are in for a bit of a long season. Losses to LSU, Bama, Arkansas are pretty much a given IMHO. 8-4 looks like a best-case.

I don't have any desire to flame at all, but I think Chiz caught lightning in a bottle with Cam; that season will make you guys keep chiz much longer than he would otherwise deserve to be there.

I'll go on record saying I don't have a lot of faith in the overall direction of this program under Chizik as a head coach.

Something just isn't right with a supposed great DC kind of coach coaching a mediocre defense four straight years.

You basing the future of the program and its coach based on one game. That is funny to me.

I"ll go on record and agree with you. Great recruiters but can they develop players? I think that Grimes has proven he is capable of developing players.I think that we really miss Tracy Rocker. JMO.

Pretty sure I'm making a judgement out of what I've seen for a little over three years.

This is different then what Ross is saying. I will agree Trooper is a great recruiter and marginal at best WR coach.

Luper does well at RB coach. tre looked great last night. ST's looks great. OL looks great. DB's I will hold judgement till the end of year. DLine I have been saying since early last year Pelton is soft and no Rocker, and may not be the guy for the job. Although, we have great talent on DL. LB's, I will give Boulware time till we get some talent in that position.

I just find it interesting that after 1 game we are ready to call Chizik a bust. I want to see how this whole year unfolds. Everyone acts like we played Louisiana Monroe last night.

Did you make that judgement before the season started? I don't recall seeing it anywhere.
