many times during the game last night, i thought to myself "if barret trotter was starting tonight, we'd be slaughtering these guys". consider myself part of the minority that thought trotter shouldn't have lost his job last season....yes, he should've been pulled from the game the time he was, but he should've been back in action the following week. can't help if his not returning was his way of saying "FU" for his treatment last season.....

individual efforts from both teams notwithstanding, it really boiled down to QB play....and boyd was simply miles ahead of frazier.

How many times was AU in the red zone with no TD? I think 3 times. Score on ONE of those, and we win.

So perhaps Auburn really was a 'one man team?'

We had a shot to win at the end against #14 team. Clemson will absolutely crush ppl this year. Boyd, Ellington, Watkins, Hopkins, and #80. I'm glad that game is over.

Really, what did you expect out his first start? He wasn't great by any means, but we moved the ball. A lack of TDs in the redzone and poor LB play is why we lost the game.

Boyd was playing at a very high level.. hitting kids over coverage, and running well. Clemson is a top 10 team IMO at this point.

The loss last night lies on the defense period. The offense was not great but okay. The only team that gets an A is the kicking team.I am so sick of seeing us dive for the feet of the opposing team it makes me sick.

Clemson is in that discussion with the exception of Alabama. Sophomore QBs will improve and this guy has the tools. Our center played well, but we missed Dismukes, especially on shotgun snaps.

Defense improved, but still has work to do. Still this game would have been much worse with Roof. Made some stops on third down, should have made a couple more. Boyd was good at eluding our tacklers.

Auburn will score no less than 6 TDs on A&M's defense (or lack thereof).

Only Cam Newton can cover up all the holes. I wish LSU could find a Cam Newton for one season!!!

Secondary played better, special teams was awesome, Frazier didn't force anything and played well at times, our OL played amazing for having 3 freshman and Tre Mason was a stud. We are vastly improved everywhere on the field except WR and LB. 8-4 with a decent bowl.

Frazier isn't very good

Neither is the defense. We are in for a long season. Really concerned over the lack of development of DT's and WR's. We have been told that there is talent and depth there. IMO, we are not seeing it.

The great thing about Saban is that we're running HIS Defense, HIS Offense and HIS ST. Change coaches? Everything stays the same. Great for recruiting, great for carry over, great for experience. AU has been flip-flopping philosophy too much, and it shows. Gotta get the right recruits for your style. Stick with that style.

Recruiting gets tougher when you don't win games. But finding sleeper players can make all the difference in the world. Look at Drew Brees.

Our recruiting has been Top 10 every year Chizik has been here except his first year.

A lot of those recruits are no longer on the team. Plus, changing coordinators doesn't help.

It all starts and end with the HC, especially in CFB. The lack of fundamentals, focus, and discipline(on field) would be the thing driving me crazy if I were an AU fan.
