I'm gonna step out onto a limb and say there's been a few rb's come through the SEC that have been better than Bo as college football players. As far as overall athletes, no though. Folks remember Bo for more than he was and I'd wager 80% of the people on this board never even saw Bo play.

Similar to the hype you guys put on Cam before last season? Cam wasn't even in D-1...

Yes, I do know that a Cam Newton is a bit different, but Cam had all the tools and was in an offense built for him to shine. So is TR...

The two have nothing in common. You are reaching.

In retrospect, Cam backed his hype up big time. Trent, he didnt.

if TR doesn't perform this year then he will be over-rated. Time for him to put up or shut-up (as the featured back). Don't forget his rec yards when just trying to make a comparison on rush yards alone.

He played in a wishbone offense, where 2 other backs wore defenses down. He had gaping holes to run through most of his career. His stats are VERY similar to ALOT of RB's that have come through this conference. As an overall athlete, nobody beats Bo. But as a football player, he's not heads and shoulders above many other rb's that have played in the SEC.

Basically Auburn fans will not recognize a good Alabama player ever....because of their hatred for the program.

Hell, Trent could rush for 2000 yards next season and they will point out something wrong with it.

Thats a cool story man. But its purely your opinion... Nothing else. I would not expect you to have any different of an opinion either.

No, you are wrong. You dont lump every fan into the same ball. I think you updykes would agree..

He has tremendous potential. The first game that he played in scared me. Dude looked unstoppable. But he has not stayed healthy and he has not produced like some would have thought. Thats all. Up to this point, he has not lived up to the hype.

I give mad props to any good player. No matter where they are from. You are wrong on that point

It's more than opinion. There's facts, stats to back it up. There's film to back up the line he was running behind also, and carries others had the same years he played, versus what backs do since then. His Heisman year, isn't as good as many other backs who didn't win the Heisman in their best years. He had less yards and TD's his Heisman year than even Ingram in his Heisman year with only 21 touches of the ball difference in those years.

You can not use stats solely. If you do, Ingram would have to give his heisman back.

Bench press does not make a good athlete.

Edit: he is a beast though

Ingram had a better Heisman yr than Bo did.

As I said, people remember Bo for more than he was 30 yrs after the fact. There have been better RB's come through this league since him. There have been better than Ingram too. I'm not just trying to say Bama has had the best, but Bo isn't all he's made out to be as a football player, by many. Was he one of the best, yes. Was he the best overall athlete, yes. Best RB? No. Top ten, absolutely, but not the best.

Im not sure how you can say that when Ingram should have never won anyway... He got the nod for being on the team he was on. Others have gotten that bump too. Its nothing new

Ok. Whats your point? IF your point is that Bo is not the best running back ever, I would agree. Because we have Zero methods to determine that. You know that we cant use stats.
