The best way to stop this from becoming a thing? - revoke his scholarship

Let's all band together and buy his card to send him to Penn State over Tennessee.

What's even better for him is that even if a school pays him for more cards... there's nothing legally binding here. He could go to Alabama or Ohio State if he wanted to change his mind later (and they offered). And he still gets to keep the money.

$100/piece. He keeps $85/each.

Looks like Tennessee is in the lead with 7 cards sold! 2 for Oregon, 0 for Penn State.

This was inevitable Tenner fans are all over this for sure

It’s not that genius. Fans won’t vote with $100. The bigger money guys aren’t going to throw money down a rabbit hole.
He won’t make $20k on this is my prediction. That’s far less than he would’ve received under the table before NIL.

This whole thing looks like a fly by night scam
They call it an NFT, not on a blockchain though. Which is actually great news
They make no guarantees the athlete actually gets paid the money
If like any other NFT projects, your card will be worthless. This is straight pay for nothing
Also looks like if you pull your money off the website they will take almost 20%
They will not share who is running the business. They have been running this business since Feb

Fans are purchasing a school-specific digital trading card tied to the athlete and team of your choice. Upon the athletes’ enrollment at their school, the digital trading card will convert either to a physical card or an NTF that can be kept, sold or traded.

All funds taken in from fan participants will stay in the Stripe merchant account until the athlete submits his proof of enrollment and gets paid. It is kept totally separate from Prospex operating funds.

After your athlete's digital trading card converts to an NFT, you essentially hold a rookie card for that athlete. Similar to physical trading cards, NFTs change in value over the course of an athlete’s career. Additionally, holders will be able to trade that NFT, and Prospex plans to build in extra benefits like meetups, merchandise or other benefits.

I'm pretty sure he could be forced to refund 100% of all card sales (all teams) based on the premise of the advertisement.
Or go to jail for theft by deception.

Better to ask him if he can locate any of the schools on a map without the names labeling the states.
Would bet a lot of money he couldn't.
Hell, I think it should also be okay now to pay to head hunt the high dollar NIL kids on the field. That would make it interesting to see little dick heads like this kid have their head on a swivel every week.

Based on the website he does not even get any money until he signs with that school. The website however keeps all the money on their payment processor, which makes zero sense. Since it is probably their account. So in reality the people behind the trading card business is holding all the money with no guarantee they have to give any of it back

I'm pretty sure the long arm of the law could be persuasive.
Racketeering.

Not one fricking penny from me. frick these hippies. They are only about the money and that ain't what sports is about for me. I don't watch pro sports and it is about time I quit watching these clowns as well.

I agree with you for different reasons.
People are buying a true freshman.
There is no guaranty for year 2.
Would you rather direct NIL resources to a freshman for hire or to an upperclassman who can contribute?

I can only identify illegal practices.
If they are a part of On3, I would imagine the Feds could find a defendant.
