This has Bluto choking written all over it. Oregon and the poors were both over matched by Ohio state. Texas won't be.

We haven’t been an underdog in a game since 2023 Bama. I’m excited to see how Sark motivates the team.

ESPN: Texas has a 50.8% chance to win

College Football News: Ohio State

Sporting News: Texas
Kris Johnson writes: "This could be another instant classic for Texas after its rollercoaster win against Arizona State. By all appearances, Ohio State looks like the most complete team left in what began as a 12-team field. The Buckeyes opened as a 5.5-point favorite at DraftKings, but early wagering moved the line to six. It's tempting to play Texas on the moneyline, but we're anticipating the spread could reach a full TD by kickoff. We picked the Longhorns to win the national championship at the outset of the CFP, and will wait for the possibility of additional points ATS."

This is totally illogical. If this handicapper were to truly believe in this play, play Texas to win the MNC at +440 that’s available right now.

I am glad the game vs. OSU is in Dallas. I have tickets and will do my part to give the Horns a home advantage against a very talented Buckeye team.

Drive safely. Bad weather plus Texas drivers plus Arlington = SNAFU.

Chip Kelly has been given more freedom to call the plays he wants to call imo.. I haven't watched them enough to know for sure, but the offense changed from the Michigan game to the Tennessee game. Instead of playing smash mouth football, they are more balanced and attacking the whole field. That is classic Chip Kelly.

This is spot on.

That entire offense has opened up and its absolutely a result of self evaluation after the Michigan disaster.

To me it looks like Chip Kelly got the full keys.

There's no reason to pick Texas. The changes OSU has made on offense make them near impossible to stop. Not sure why they didn't do it sooner. And their defense is capable of replicating Georgia's approach.

For a fighter's chance Sark needs to pass to open up the run, and the Dline needs to get to Howard early and often. I believe!

Texas doesn't stand a chance

Which is why we actually have a chance imo..

The media and everyone will say that OSU is the favorite to win the NC, and the players will come in with something to prove.. and Texas has the dogs, if they show up to fight.

I think we'll show up. I just don't know if it will be enough.

Ohio St is a 9 point favorite on FEI game projections.

Texas defense is it's strength IMO, if they can copy Michigan they might have a chance.

One idea I'm hoping Sark entertains..

Play Backup OT Goosby at LG or RG over 1 of the starters, likely Campbell. That would be an interesting twist that could get the run game going..

The problem is always which Texas team will show up ? I don't expect Texas to win but not because of talent just mindset.

In this scenario, I think it’s more which OSU shows up? If it’s the OSU of the past two games, I don’t think Texas can beat them even playing your best game. If it’s something less than that then Texas can beat them. But the performances OSU has had in postseason games are absolutely ridiculous.

OSU has an elite defense and an offense that isn’t just hot but has WRs making multiple catch of the year type catches in the same games.

Not a bad idea. Our interior OL was abysmal against ASU. If we make a starting lineup change, though, I’d rather move McDonald to the starting lineup and bench Muhammad. He has been a huge liability the past two games and while Clemson has really good WRs, ASU doesn’t, and neither team has anyone close to Smith.

I would say it's actually the opposite of this. Ryan Day has said he has been able to be involved with gameplans more in the playoffs than in the regular season with all the other stuff he has to do. He only has to win playoff games now.

These passing concepts are straight Ryan Day. Aggessive and putting good players in positions to make defenses look bad even if they aren't.

Texas has been kind of an inconsistent mess this season. I still don't think we have come close to playing our best game. Texas could win or lose by 2 TDs.

They can try to mimic it as close as possible, but Texas does not have 2 first round picks at DT like Michigan does. LB's will have to be more aggressive than Michigan was, potentially opening up the middle of the field. That being said, Texas might be the most physical team tOSU has played (like Michigan).

I think this game will be won on the edges (Tackles and Edges). If you get pressure on Will Howard, he turns into Will "Spill the Pill" Howard. Texas has the best pass rush tOSU has seen this season, and tOSU has the second best pass rush Texas has seen this year (behind Georgia). Texas has 2 first round tackles, but judging at how little other conferences call holding compared to the SEC (tOSU hasn't been called for holding since conference play started for them), I don't think that will matter. If you can hold, it levels the playing field.

I'd like to see him starting over Campbell in general. I'd like to see it, and if we start off slow I don't see a reason not to try it.

Not saying I disagree, but people said this about Oregon's DL and about Tennessee's DL too.

Texas has more sacks than Oregon and TN on the season, but OSU has more than UGA, so you can't just be going based on sacks.

What is your reasoning?

I don’t know what the stats are and am too lazy to look them up. But Tenn played both UGA and OSU. And while our passing game sucked both games, against UGA it had more to do with our WRs or Nico making an error. Against OSU balls were being batted down constantly. OSU interfered with our passing game more than we stepped on our own dicks and we spent most of the season dick stepping.

Some of that had to do with losing Sampson at RB and the backup with the most experience also being out which hurt pass pro as much as losing them as runners and forcing a change in game plans. But OSU made plays on the ball even when they weren’t going directly after the QB. Sawyer was at batting practice and looking like he was ready for the World Series.

Eye test wise that defense was faster than any we saw all year. Besides that they managed to crack not one but TWO of Nico’s helmets. I don’t think them being less of a pass rush on paper or otherwise is anything I’d place faith in.

OSU honestly reminded me more of prime BAMA when we were a bad team and there was nothing you could really do (couldn’t even get mad at the arse whooping because they were just that good on the field].
