Sooner fans have what they call "Bama math". That's not a dig or an insult, it's just what we call claiming all the other titles that are not AP titles.

That would give us 17, but we only claim 7.

Is there a standard way the SEC claims/counts their titles?

Go count your dildos, that will get you to 17.

Try zero, which is the amount you'll get over the next 50 years

From what i've seen, if a newspaper in shitville, Ohio says that you are the national championship, you get to claim it.

Thats all it takes in the SEC.

I go off what's on the official NCAA website.

It gives Ole Miss 1 in 1960 and posters get VERY butthurt about it here when it's brought up

Doesn't matter which method you use to count them, BAMA has more. Count away.

They do seem a little sore about the subject yeah. I just honestly wanted to know how they're counted in this conference.

I believe the official rule is if you didn't win the NC as a member of the SEC then it really doesn't count. Looks like you guys are starting at 0.

You could always count the ones you didn’t get when you were savagely violated by LSU in 03 and 19. 49 at halftime? Damn.

That's correct, if said newspaper in Ohio is an NCAA-designated selector for the year in which they've claimed said team to be the national champion.

Claiming every permissible title would give Alabama 22 national titles, Oklahoma 18 national titles and Texas (indomitable juggernaut that you are) 9 national titles.

Are you bragging about beating a team by 10 pts at a home NC game with Jason white having a broken hand?

I think a Florida fan one time said that we should only count them starting the BCS era forward. Imagine how salty Bama and OU fans would be.

BCS 'ships:

3- Bama

2-
Fla St
LSU
Florida

1-
OU
Ohio St
Auburn
Miami
Texas
USC
Tenn

CF Playoff 'ships:
3- Bama
2- Clemson
1- LSU
1- Ohio St

So, to total it for you ingrates:

6- Bama
3- LSU
2- Fla St, Florida, Ohio St, Clemson
1- OU, Aub, Miami, Texas, USC, Tenn

Frankly, if you didn't win one since the start of the BCS era, it is going to be damn hard for you to win one since that era, in my opinion.

I can't argue with what you are saying at all. Bama is an elite all-time team, no need to claim BS titles issued by "Joe BoB magazine" or whomever and dilute legit titles. Others in the SEC also claim these types of titles.

LSU has 4 legit titles and that isn't including the 1908 one that we actually should claim but don't.

Neither Oklahoma or Texas claim BS titles.
